Director of Financial Reporting and M&A Accounting
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Financial Reporting and M&A Accounting to oversee and optimize our external and internal financial reporting and mergers & acquisitions accounting functions. This role requires close collaboration with executive leadership, cross-functional teams, and external auditors to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate will also lead the Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting team, driving excellence in SEC compliance, control environment, and business process improvement. This is a fulltime, on-site 12 to 15 months Contract in downtown Denver.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and optimize external and internal financial reporting processes.
- Manage mergers & acquisitions (M&A) accounting functions.
- Collaborate closely with executive leadership, cross-functional teams, and external auditors.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with SEC regulations.
- Lead and mentor the Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting team.
- Enhance the control environment and drive business process improvements.
- Provide leadership and advisory support on technical accounting matters.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business, preferred MBA.
- 7 + years of Proven experience in SEC compliance and financial reporting
- Strong expertise in mergers & acquisitions (M&A) accounting.
- Industry knowledge of Oil & Gas, Energy, Utilities, Mining, Manufacturing preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of control environment and business process improvement.
- Demonstrated leadership and advisory capabilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- CPA certification is preferred.
- Experience with SAP is preferred.
- Based on experience: $75 to $125 an hour, with a long-term contract.
