school kitchens. Reports to the Food Services Director.

Food & Nutrition Services Department
Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Director of Food Services, provide support to the food service
department with specific responsibilities for directing the day-to-day activities and personnel at 13
school kitchens. Reports to the Food Services Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to school sites for the purpose of supporting food services personnel, monitor food quality, visual appeal, menu compliance, ordering, food receiving and storage, daily kitchen production records, sanitation logs, temp logs, equipment maintenance calls, etc. Expected to spend no less than 50% of the work day/week in kitchens and cafeterias.
- Monitor compliance with Offer vs. Serve regulations.
- Monitor cashiers and the accuracy of the Point of Sale System.
- Supervise assigned food service personnel for the purpose of maximizing the productivity of the workforce, redirect personnel as needed all while ensuring adherence to health, safety, and the nutritional standards of food services.
- Understand and implement requirements for appropriate sanitation and safety levels. Ensure compliance with applicable health regulations and ordinances in preparation for any state or local board of health inspection
- Keep weekly internal kitchen inspection records
- Assist with the communication and other informative materials concerning Food Services for the purpose of distributing information to personnel, parents, and the community
- Assist the Logistics Manager in all purchasing and utilization of government commodities.
- Collaborate with the Director to develop and test recipes for the purpose of evaluating student food preferences
- Participate in district meetings and initiatives, professional association meetings, and workshops and conferences for the purpose of gathering information that can enhance department practices and personal performance.
- Assist the director with administrative duties and projects as needed
- Communicate information timely, frequently, and in a professional manner to the Director, other administrators and department staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director to support the department.
Skill Set & Qualifications:
You may possess many, though perhaps not all, of the following characteristics and qualifications:
- 5 years food service management experience preferred, with at least two years of school nutrition experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a multicultural and multilingual work environment
- Ability to efficiently work independently as well as in a close, collaborative environment
- Knowledge of food service local, state, federal, and NSBP/NSLP regulations a plus
- Registered Dietitian (RD) a plus
