Who we are looking for:
Slate is looking for an energetic, organized, and experienced Interior Principal Engineer - Craftsmanship to join our growing team that's challenging the status quo of vehicle design. The leadership position will be responsible for the technical aspect of the interior cabin as it pertains to the important role of Craftsmanship.
What you get to do:
- Define, Develop, and Deliver the Interior Cabin Craftsmanship in conjunction with the Quality and Studio Craftsmanship leads.
- Define cabin attribute specifications which interpret the five human sense into specific deliverables. For example (Sound - Squeak&Rattle; Sight - Gap&Flush; Smell - VOC&Odor; Touch - Firmness)
- Lead the vehicle level validation with support from the component and subsystem teams. alongside the DRE's and suppliers to ensure compliance to the define specifications.
- Lead the Fit & Finish deck with RSS tolerance stack up and approve the Master F&F deck.
- Support occupant comfort ride & drive evaluations in seating, armrests, ergonomics.
- Lead root cause analysis during launch with collaboration from cross functional teams.
What you bring to the team:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited university or equivalent.
- Undeniable passion for Automotive Interiors.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T / RSS Tolerance stack.
- Launch experience and root cause leadership related to craftmanship.
- 15+ years of vehicle design and release experience in Interiors.
- Knowledge of design considerations required for plastic/composite components.
- Proven communication and team building skills.
- Ability and Desire work in a fun and fast paced environment
