Description:
We are looking for an innovative and accountable Intermediate Engineer with municipal experience to work in KWL's stormwater sector, on stormwater, civil, and water resources-type projects. We are looking for someone who can drive and lead projects, asks questions and get things done, and who will collaborate with and support senior staff as well as work with and delegate to junior staff. This role needs someone who is flexible and open to a wide range of work across our sector, but with a core focus on design.

What You'll Do
- Working closely with municipalities, First Nations, Provincial and Federal Ministries, as well as developments, to undertake drainage and stormwater-related design projects;
- Developing master drainage plans, watershed and site-based integrated stormwater management plans, and capital plans;
- Developing concept, preliminary, and detailed designs for green infrastructure, culverts, detention ponds, storm sewers, creek daylighting and other stormwater and related facilities;
- Field investigation of existing conditions and issues at project sites,
- Occasional construction inspection in person and as support for junior field staff.
- Report and proposal writing; and
- Progressing the whole of a project, and taking on as much responsibility as you are comfortable with, from proposal to assessments and design, through to completion of construction and development of manuals and documentation.
What You'll Bring
- Registration or eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia
- 4-8 years of experience in stormwater, water resources, hydrology/hydraulics and other related fields
- Experience with SWMM-type, HEC-RAS or other modelling software, and/or ESRI Arc GIS is an asset
- Design and construction experience with stormwater or other municipal infrastructure projects
- Pro-active attitude with an interest in innovative and client-focused problem-solving
- Strong report-writing skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) and be able to work with team members in a multi-disciplinary environment
- A desire to learn new skills and an eagerness to grow within your role
- A valid driver's license (in good standing) is mandatory
- Must be physically able to conduct field visits commensurate with project work. This may include handling and operation of equipment, travel to remote areas by vehicle, boat, air or foot, and outdoor site visits in all weather conditions on uneven/varying ground terrain.
