As a Project Manager with technical environmental experience, you will join our Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation and Monitoring (ARRM) team. The successful applicant will be 100% office-based and involved in a broad range of projects with responsibilities as follows:

• Active participation in maintaining Montrose's strong safety culture
• Act as a leader in the workplace using Montrose Standard Operating Safety and Technical Procedures
• Manage a portfolio of simple to moderately complex projects for legacy upstream oil and gas facilities from decommissioning to regulatory closure including Phase 1 and Phase 2 Environmental Site Assessments (ESA), Risk Management Plans (RMP), Remedial Action Plans (RAP), Remediation (both in-situ and ex-situ), Reclamation, Post-reclamation Monitoring, and Regulatory Closure Applications.
• Coordinate with internal project teams across disciplines to facilitate delivery of high-quality products to meet our client's requirements under their environmental program management framework
• Communicate with client's program management team and project related stakeholders and subcontractors on technical and project management scopes
• Prepare technical correspondence, proposals, work plans, and cost estimates, including preparing sub-contractor requests for proposals and complete proposal evaluation to present sub-contractor with recommendations in-line with client procurement standards.
• Prepare technical reports with a primary focus on regulatory submissions (Record of Site Conditions, Comprehensive Site Reviews, Conceptual Site Models, Phase 1 ESA, Phase 2 ESA, RMP/RAP, Detailed Site Assessments, Remedial Summary Reports, and Remediation or Reclamation Certificate Applications)
• Function effectively within and contribute to the success of a collaborative, highly integrated team
• Proactively engage and participate in development opportunities to support your career growth
• Mentor and develop junior and intermediate staff members

What We Are Looking For

• A degree or technical diploma in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology or engineering
• A minimum of eight (8) years previous environmental consulting experience with a minimum of five (5) years of direct project management experience directing legacy oil and gas projects
• Eligibility for registration in or maintaining a good standing in a professional organization (e.g. AIA, ASET, APEGA)
• Self-motivated, possess strong communication skills (verbal and written), and strong leadership skills
• Experience with estimating costs and leading site assessment and remediation programs in the Oil & Gas industry
• Experience writing technical reports including ESAs, RMPs, RAPs, etc.
• Willingness to provide direction and mentorship to more junior and intermediate professionals
• Experience with the Alberta Energy Regulator's OneStop tool and working knowledge of provincial regulatory frameworks in Western Canada is also an asset
• Experience with Workday software would be an asset
• A valid and clean class 5 driver's license with no restrictions
