We are seeking an experienced International Tax Manager to join the Firmwide Tax Department, preferably in the Pittsburgh office. As part of the Firmwide Tax Department, you will be responsible for the review and coordination of tax matters both locally and with regard to the global operations of the Firm. You will be part of a core tax team that works on an integrated basis to ensure the Firm's compliance with global tax reporting requirements. In this regard, you will also be responsible for working directly with our internal finance team and external advisers on Pillar 2, transfer pricing and other global reporting requirements. This role is part of a cross border team and you will work with internal counterparts and external advisors globally. The candidate will have a chance to join a highly motivated team with strategic planning and growth opportunities. Knowledge of Microsoft excel is essential, and prior pass through entity and/or law firm experience is highly valued.

Compensation Salary $108,000 - $167,000
The compensation salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors.

This position includes responsibilities and oversight of the following areas:
International Tax & Transfer Pricing Coordination
- Coordination of global tax matters including:
- Develop process to comply with Pillar 2 requirements as required globally
- Work with local internal and external accountants to review local financial and tax reporting
- Assist in the collection and analysis of information to support the Firm's transfer pricing reporting and overhead expense allocations.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors / transfer pricing team to ensure local and master files are completed on a timely basis
- Prepare and analyze information to meet the Firm's OECD country-by-country reporting requirements
- Oversee functional interviews with key K&L Gates personnel worldwide
- Coordinate with Financial Planning & Analysis team regarding firmwide overhead computation
- Manage relationships with non-US service providers to ensure that the Firm's international filing requirements are met with timeliness and accuracy.
- Manage the process of working with non-US colleagues to gather and analyze the data required for international tax reporting.
- Monitor international tax and regulatory requirements as required
- Coordinate with local offices regarding VAT / GST / consumption tax matters in particular related to client acceptance / set up and cross border billing
Indirect Taxes:
- Review the preparation and submission of tax filings related to sales/use tax, personal property tax, business and occupational tax, payroll expense tax, and business license tax.
- These filings are prepared and filed by a Senior Tax Analyst who will report to you
State Income Taxes:
- High level review / back up the tax team in calculation and remission of quarterly estimated tax payments for composite tax filings, individual equity partner opt-out submissions, and entity-level partnership tax filings.
- Prepare and analyze financial information used by service providers in completing the Firm's federal and state partnership and composite tax filings.
- Analyze Firm receipts and state filing positions related to market-based sourcing.
- Analyze the Firm's business and employment activities to determine state nexus and related income tax filing obligations.
- Calculate apportionment factors to be used in state income tax reporting.
- Conduct technical tax research and issue memorandums to Firm officers and executive leadership related to legislative changes and various Firm filing positions.
Misc Federal Tax Responsibilities
- Manage quarterly and annual meals, entertainment, and other nondeductible expense analysis to determine the appropriate addback to taxable income
- Controversy Resolution:
- Respond to notices and inquiries from tax authoties.
- Manage external international and state & local audits by tax authorities to achieve desirable outcomes for the Firm.
