Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technician
Job Specialty: Interventional Radiology

Shift: Day, Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40.00
Experience: 1 year in diagnostic and 1 year in Interventional Radiology preferred
License: Registered Radiologic Technologist (RTR) required
Certifications: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS HCP) certification from American Heart Association (AHA) required
Must-Have: Excellent teamwork and communication skills, familiarity with Siemens IR suite and Epic EMR

Job Description:

- Assist in various invasive angio and interventional procedures in the Interventional Radiology Suite.
- Organize surgical scrub and circulation duties for comprehensive patient care during and after procedures.
- Monitor patients within the Interventional Radiology area.
- Perform specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage under the direction of a physician.
- Explain procedures to patients and prepare them accordingly.
- Obtain medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials for administration by a licensed practitioner or authorized technologist.
- Provide scrub assistance during various operative IR procedures such as PICC, Perm, Port, AVF, IVC filter, etc.
- Circulate during procedures and maintain responsibility for patient comfort.
- Supply necessary items for diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures.
- Remove catheters/sheaths and apply direct pressure or clamp as appropriate.
- Provide report information to holding area or nursing unit as needed.
- Record and process hemodynamic reports, contrast media records, and charges promptly and accurately.
- Enter patient data and inventory into WITT program and send films for review.
- Communicate equipment malfunctions to leadership or department engineer for repairs.
- Stand and walk while wearing 10 to 15-pound lead radiation protection aprons.
- Work in confined areas with exposure to radiation, secretions, and blood.
- Maintain normal vision, manual dexterity, and good eye-hand coordination to operate equipment.
- Maintain constant concentration during procedures.

Education:

- High School Diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program or accredited Radiology Interventional Program required

Languages: Must be able to speak, read, and write in English
