Job Title: Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist
Job Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day 10 5x8 Hr
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Two years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab preferred
License: Registered ARRT or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist RCIS required within 18 months of hire
Certifications: BLS and ACLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, Fluoroscopy Certification
Must-Have: English proficiency; Read, Write, Speak
Job Description:
- Provide technical support in the cardiac catheterization laboratory during invasive cardiovascular procedures.
- Assist physicians in radiological imaging of cardiac and vascular procedures, act as a scrub assistant, maintaining sterile conditions during clinical procedures.
- Operate imaging equipment and work in the control room monitoring and documenting procedure images and events.
- Educate patients and families regarding the procedure and about the expectations of the procedure.
- Teach patients and families about pre- and post-procedure physical conditions.
- Assist in maintaining order and cleanliness of the unit and maintain appropriate stock levels for complex interventions and diagnostic procedures.
- Complete daily, progress, and discharge documentation according to departmental standards. Accurately document productivity information.
- Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives. Identify potential areas for improvement, including processes that could be streamlined or revised to improve patient satisfaction.
- Identify potential safety hazards that may create problems for patients and/or staff, and take appropriate actions.
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of the health system and abide by service behavior standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
