Job Description
Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist
Job Specialty: Interventional Radiology
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days with on-call requirements; 10-hour or 8-hour shifts starting from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Call is required on weekends every 3rd to 4th weekend (Friday 5:30 PM to Monday 7:00 AM) and up to 3 call shifts during the week (5:30 PM to 7:00 AM). Every other holiday.
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in an Interventional Radiology setting
License: Applicable state license
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - must be from American Heart Association; ARRT; NDMIRT
Must-Have: Willingness to float between two hospital locations.
Job Description:
- Provide high-quality images using specialized equipment to ensure optimal clarity for accurate physician diagnosis and minimal discomfort or radiation exposure to patients.
- Perform various procedures such as vascular angiograms, biopsies, drainages, tube placements, injections, paracentesis, thoracentesis, thrombectomy, embolizations, endovascular procedures, central lines, and dialysis catheters.
- Minimize patient recovery risk and duration, initiating life support measures if necessary.
- Adhere to safety and infection control policies.
- Understand and respect patient physical and emotional status, maintaining sensitivity and confidentiality.
- Work seamlessly with all age groups.
- Extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, medical terminology, operative terms, and pharmacology.
- Familiarity with billing and coding of procedures.
- Ability to adapt to changes and work independently without constant supervision.
- Flexibility in schedule and taking on-call responsibilities as needed.
- Responsible for scheduling and performing diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Participate in the educational processes of Radiologic Technology students.
- Utilize the following equipment: EPIC charting, Radiant, Cupid, PACS, Accudose.
- Complete unit/department orientation and training program, which lasts 2 weeks, with the possibility to finish sooner if validated.
