Job Description
Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist
Job Specialty: Interventional Radiology (IR)
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 10-hour or 8-hour shifts, starting between 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 1 year as an IR Tech
License: NDMIRT
Certifications: BLS (must be AHA), ARRT
Must-Have: Willingness to float between two hospitals
Job Description:
- Provide high-quality images through the operation of specialized interventional radiology equipment to ensure optimum clarity for physician diagnosis.
- Perform a variety of procedures including vascular angiograms, biopsies, drainages, tube placements, injections, paracentesis, thoracentesis, thrombectomy, embolizations, endovascular procedures, central lines, and dialysis catheters.
- Minimize patient risk and recovery time, initiating life support measures as necessary.
- Adhere to established safety and infection control policies.
- Develop an understanding of patients' physical and emotional status, while maintaining sensitivity and confidentiality.
- Work collaboratively across all age groups.
- Possess extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, and medical terminology.
- Familiarity with operative terms, pharmacology, and billing and coding of procedures.
- Exercise professional judgment in performing highly specialized procedures independently.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and take on-call duties as needed.
- Responsible for scheduling and performing diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Participate in the educational processes of Radiologic Technology students.
- Utilize equipment such as EPIC charting, Radiant, Cupid, PACS, and Accudose.
- Complete a two-week orientation program or validate skills prior to reduce orientation time.
Note: Ensure proper submission of fingerprints and documentation to the licensing board to expedite the processing times.
