Community Health Network of Connecticut, Inc. (CHNCT) is currently seeking an IS Sr. Systems Operations Specialist.

Primary Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Team Lead, IS Operations, the IS Sr. Systems Operations Specialist is tasked with the following responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain existing on-premises automated jobs, ensuring their reliability and performance.
  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based automated jobs including file downloads/uploads, ETLs, and maintenance routines.
  • Utilize monitoring tools to ensure robust alerting and response mechanisms for both on-premises and cloud-based jobs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud solutions and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.

Tasks Performed:
  • Monitor both on-premises and cloud-based jobs and proactively address any issues or errors that arise.
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates to ensure the reliability and efficiency of automated processes.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for both on-premises and cloud-based automation solutions.
  • Develop and deploy automated workflows in Azure using tools such as Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Document processes, configurations, and best practices for cloud and on-premises automation.

Essential Functions:
  • Ensure the successful migration of automated jobs to Azure, minimizing downtime and ensuring data integrity.
  • Maintain high availability and performance of both on-premises and cloud-based jobs through effective monitoring and intervention.
  • Continuously improve automation processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Stay updated with the latest Azure technologies and best practices to leverage new features and capabilities.
  • Communicate appropriately to parties who are involved in service level agreements.

Desired Education: 4 years post-secondary schooling or equivalent experience and professional training

Desired Degree: Bachelor's degree

Desired Major: Computer Science

Desired Job Experience:
  • Proven experience in cloud migration projects, particularly with Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure services and tools, including Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining automated workflows and ETL processes.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and alerting tools such as Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • 3 years of automation tools in Azure, AWS, or GCP. Azure preferred.

Other Qualifications:
  • Experience with the following software and platforms: HashiCorp Consul and Nomad, RabbitMQ, MongoDB, SQL Server Data Tools Database Projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • High proficiency in SQL Server and T-SQL for database management and query optimization.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices in cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of job automation systems like Forta JAMS or other on-prem equivalent systems.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
