Primary Accountability

The IS Technician Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of staff members and daily operations of the MIS department.

Description of Primary Responsibilities
  • Provides supervision to departmental staff.
    • Demonstrates successful leadership by selecting and building talent.
    • Responsible for performance management of assigned staff, including recognition, performance evaluations, formal coaching and counseling, and making decisions or recommendations regarding necessary disciplinary actions.
    • Responsible for making recommendations regarding hiring or firing, and the advancement and promotion of assigned staff or any other change status of assigned staff.
    • Demonstrates core leadership behaviors and team one approach.
    • Responsible for communicating with staff.
    • Builds a successful team and aligns team performance.
    • Provides and/or ensures employees receive instruction/training needed to successfully complete their assigned job responsibilities while ensuring compliance with training plan. In addition to onboarding, provides on the job training to develop employees and provides/arranges for remediation when necessary.
    • Manages work of assigned team. Assigns duties to employees and provides daily guidance and supervision based on manager's operational direction. On a daily basis, monitors staff performance, department staffing, and mitigates and resolves any issues preventing goal attainment, providing constant feedback to manager.
    • Ensures that employees are aware of and adhere to company workflows, procedures, and policies. When appropriate, immediately corrects actions or behaviors outside of company policies and procedures. Identifies trend offenses, reporting as frequently as necessary to the manager based on severity of offense.
    • Recommends workflow and procedure changes based on observations from the floor.
    • Assists manager in ensuring department expenses stay within budget.
    • Maintains compliance with all employee related reporting and tracking.
  • Responsible for MIS project planning, project management, maintenance, training, and oversight of the IS Tech I's.
    • Maintain project schedules and task assignments.
    • Monitors MIS metrics daily to ensure they meet the department's customer service and technical efficiency standards, utilizing data from the MIS dashboards (calls, tickets, projects), and technician scorecards.
    • Supervises and reviews that purchase orders are being processed and delivered to the correct hubs correctly and timely.
    • Prepares and schedules inventory audits for all FHCN IS equipment and presents findings to the manager for review.
    • Maintains accurate project schedules utilizing Asana or other project management software's.
    • Conducts routine tool bag audit for IS Tech I's to ensure project tools for the department are accounted.
    • Completes maintenance of computer images and deployment versions.
    • Supervises the installation, configuration, repair, and preventative maintenance of personal computers, mobile devices, printers, and other IS-supported equipment.
  • Responsible for assisting the manager with general responsibilities.
    • Develops and mentors IS Tech I's interested in technical growth and knowledge.
    • Conducts bi-weekly site visits to ensure departmental standards are being met and submits quarterly reports to the manager based on on-site visits.
    • Ensures proper handling of customer service complaints related to IS technician tickets or service.
  • Responsible for maintaining network hardware and software.
    • Current hardware list used across the FHCN network and provides recommendations to the IS Manager on future changes.
    • Current software list supported by IS on the FHCN network and provides recommendations to the IS Manager on future changes.
    • Ensure proper licensing for the above hardware and software is maintained
  • Responsible for supervision of the technicians using camera systems for the FHCN network, including:
    • Ensures staff follow the correct workflows with HR to pull footage.
    • Ensures cameras are functioning and provides maintenance.
    • Audits camera systems for appropriate access and use.
  • Responsible for the supervision of IS staff workflows including handling user accounts for account creations, modifications, terminations, and protected leaves.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Description of Primary Attributes

    Professional & Technical Knowledge:
  • Possesses specific advanced knowledge and skills, including written and verbal communication skills, computational, computer and technical skills, and mathematical knowledge frequently acquired through completion of an Associates Degree program with a recognized major or comparable experience, and;
  • Two years of leadership experience or 5 years of progressively greater responsibility or significant contributions to projects and initiatives that demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Possesses a general understanding of IT Infrastructure and the ability to evaluate the needs of FHCN sites with regards to network setup for both new construction and remodels.
  • Possesses the ability to forecast and create budget projections and reports related to the IT needs for FHCN.
  • The ability to supervise multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accurate reports and clear communication to teams involved.

  • Technical Skills:
  • Ability to prepare more complex documents in Microsoft Word, including creating tables, charts, graphs and other elements.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel to analyze data, including the use of formulas, functions, lookup tables and other standard spreadsheet elements.
  • Ability to develop sophisticated presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint, including the use of embedded objects, transitions and other elements.
  • Ability to create training and workflow documentation for the Technicians following FHCN and department policies and procedures.

  • Licenses & Certifications: CompTIA Net+ or CCNP - May be waived for employees with 5 years of service within the FHCN MIS department. Valid CA Driver's license is required.

    Communications Skills:
  • Job duties require the employee to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, their opinions and extrapolations of information they collect and synthesize/analyze.
  • Responsible for the resolution of conflicts that may arise because of disagreements between employees, between employees and customers/clients, or with the public, other legal entities or governmental authorities.
  • Compiles, analyzes and prepares information in an effective written form, including correspondence, reports, articles or other documentation.
  • Effectively conveys technical information to non-technical audiences.

    Pay Scale:

    Min Salary Rate: $68,640.00

    Max Salary Rate: $107,200.00
