NexThreat is looking for ISS Engineer to ensure the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for an information system or program. The ISSO also serves as the principal advisor to the Authorizing Official and Information System Owner on all matters (technical and otherwise) involving the security of the information system.

Responsibilities:
Ensuring that the defined cybersecurity solutions are effective and meet all cybersecurity
requirements identified by the Authorizing Official;
Ensuring that new information systems are designed and developed with appropriate
cybersecurity features and safeguards as outlined in DOJ and Component policies;
Ensuring that information system enhancements for all information systems being upgraded
provide equivalent or enhanced effectiveness of the existing cybersecurity features and remain
consistent with DOJ and Component policies;
Following the cybersecurity requirements of all applicable policies, standards, and directives;
Assisting in the identification of the information systems cybersecurity requirements;
Assisting in the development and implementation of the information system security design;
Supporting the Information System Owner in the preparation of the Security Authorization
documentation;
Performing cybersecurity reviews in support of information system integration and
cybersecurity configuration in preparation for control assessment testing;
Assisting the Information System Owner in the development of the initial Risk Assessment
during the Concept Development phase;
Assisting in the development and review of the certification test plans and observing
certification testing on behalf of the ISSO as appropriate;
Coordinating cybersecurity-related issues with the ISSO; and
Notifying the ISSO of any cybersecurity-relevant changes that may affect the information
system security design.
Applicable DOD 8570 Certification Area: IAM, IASAE, CSSP
Requirements:
5-years of documented experience and/or education in IT or Cybersecurity.
