Starting Pay: $94,983 - $110,994 Annually DOQ

Total Pay Range: $94,983 to $127,004 Annually

POSITION SUMMARY

The IT Analyst - Network & Cloud Services position acts as the primary escalation point for complex network, cloud, and IT system issues across the organization. This position is responsible for supporting day-to-day cloud services (Microsoft O365, Microsoft Azure and other Microsoft services), network infrastructure, building technology, and connectivity. Additionally, the role provides temporary and regular coverage for key IT functions, including Tier 1 - Tier 3 support and special projects. The IT Analyst - Network & Cloud Services position will ensure that all appropriate IT operations are seamlessly managed, ensuring continuity and optimal system performance across cloud, network, and building technologies.

Essential Functions Summaries
  • Escalation Point & Ownership
    • Serve as the primary escalation point for advanced network, cloud, and IT system issues, resolving complex challenges across both cloud and on-premises environments.
    • Take ownership of troubleshooting and resolve issues related to complex cloud services (Microsoft O365, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Intune) and on-premises infrastructure, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Cloud & Network Infrastructure Support
    • Carry out day-to-day tasks related to Microsoft O365, Microsoft Azure, VOIP phone system, and other assigned cloud services, ensuring that services meet performance and availability requirements.
    • Support, troubleshoot and optimize internal and remote office networks (VPN), including configuration, administration, and security protocols.
    • Ensure smooth functionality of collaboration tools (Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint) across all departments to support productivity.
  • Building Systems Integration
    • Carry out and support the integration of IT infrastructure with property building technologies, including systems like paging, door access, cameras, and other smart building systems to improve operational efficiency.
    • Troubleshoot issues related to network integration with building systems and address performance concerns quickly to prevent operational disruptions.
  • Temporary Coverage & General IT Support
    • During periods of high workload, staff absence, or when additional support is needed for specific projects, provide support to ensure coverage of all essential IT functions. Assist and provide temporary relief for other team members.
    • Assist with the rollout of new computers and laptops, including setup, configuration, and repairs, ensuring end-users are equipped with functional and updated systems.
    • Assist with the repair, replacement, and troubleshooting of IT equipment (laptops, desktops, peripherals) to maintain operational efficiency.
    • Provide support for special IT projects, including hardware and software upgrades, and large-scale IT initiatives. This includes acting as project support and project lead where assigned.
  • Collaboration with Systems & Security Engineering
    • Work with the Systems and Security Engineer and Sr. IT & Business Systems Manager to implement and refine security measures across both IT infrastructure, cloud systems and building systems.
    • Support the integration of security protocols for physical security systems such as surveillance, access control, and alarm systems, ensuring alignment with organizational security standards.
    • Assist in conducting risk assessments, responding to security incidents, and addressing vulnerabilities in both IT and building technologies.
  • Security & Compliance
    • Implement security measures and protocols for cloud services, network infrastructure, and building technology systems to ensure data and operational integrity.
    • Regularly audit security systems and perform proactive assessments to mitigate risks, including cloud environments (O365, Azure), on-premise systems, and smart building technologies.
    • Take a lead role in disaster recovery and backup procedures, ensuring business continuity in the event of system failures or security incidents.
  • Team Mentorship and Cross-sharing
    • Provide mentorship and cross-sharing to IT team members, such as cloud service management, network configuration, and system troubleshooting.
    • Create training materials and programs to enhance the team's technical proficiency in cloud systems, network management, and building system integrations.
  • Technical Documentation & Reporting
    • Document completed work within the established helpdesk system.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud configurations, network architecture, building system integrations, and security protocols.
    • Create regular reports on system performance, security audits, and cloud usage to keep management informed of the organization's IT health and status.
    • Document and communicate troubleshooting procedures for IT systems and building technologies to streamline resolution efforts and training.
    • Assist with KB (knowledge base) articles to support knowledge sharing to staff where appropriate.
  • Innovation & System Improvement
    • Stay informed on the latest trends in cloud services, network technologies, and smart building systems to recommend system improvements or new technologies.
    • Evaluate the potential integration of new technologies to drive improvements in cloud, network, and building operations, recommending upgrades or changes as needed.
  • Vendor Coordination
    • Coordinate with assigned external vendors for cloud services, networking equipment, and building systems to ensure effective service delivery.
    • Assist with assigned vendor relationships, addressing escalations and ensuring timely resolution of issues affecting network, cloud, or building system performance.
  • Other Duties as Assigned
    • Take on additional IT-related duties as necessary to support the organization's operational needs and strategic goals.
    • Ensure seamless coverage and support across all aspects of IT operations, from system deployments to troubleshooting and special projects.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience

Education: Bachelor's degree (four-year college or technical school): Required, Field of Study: Information Technology. Any combination of experience, certification, or degree in a related field will be considered.

Experience: 4 or more years of experience in a related IT field with emphasis on networking, cloud administration, Microsoft services, and technology support.

Bremerton Housing Authority has the discretion to accept any other equivalent combination of education and experience when relevant.

Certifications & Licenses: Professional level certifications: MSCITP, CCNA, MCP, VCP, A+, Network+ are a plus.

Other Requirements:
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License for use in Washington State with the continued ability to be covered under the Housing Authority's auto insurance policies.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is primarily an office position with the opportunity to move about at will. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate various pieces of office equipment. The employee is required to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Employee may be exposed to noise from basic office machine operation. The work environment is fast-paced and moderately noisy.
