Job Description
Hands-on Manager, Development/Operations to lead our Application Development Team.
Rising leader to take ownership of modernizing our legacy development environment, implementing structured processes, and fostering a cloud-first mindset within a well-established but evolving organization.
Prioritizing local candidates but may consider relocation assistance for the right individual
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a small team of developers while remaining hands-on in coding, reviewing, and guiding best practices.
Overhaul development practices by introducing version control (Git), structured development methodologies, and incremental DevOps principles within a traditional environment.
Modernize legacy VB/.NET applications while ensuring SQL development aligns with business needs.
Collaborate with IT leadership and business stakeholders to prioritize development efforts and improve IT-business alignment.
Drive the adoption of a cloud-first mindset, assisting with cloud migrations and infrastructure improvements (from an App/Dev perspective)
Establish basic QA/testing workflows to improve software reliability.
Improve team agility by introducing lightweight Agile methodologies where appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in software development
2+ years leadership or mentorship
Strong experience in .NET (VB preferred) and SQL development.
Leading or implementing version control (Git), DevOps methodologies, or software development best practices
Agile environments (i.e. Scrum / Lean / SAFe)
Manage multiple projects
Ever-evolving environment
Coaching and mentoring developers to elevate coding standards and practices
Strong sense of urgency with customer-facing applications
Preferred Skills:
Experience with ASP.NET, Mongoose, Infor M3 ERP, Xcode.
Background in manufacturing or supply chain industries.
Prior experience modernizing legacy systems.
