POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Business Analyst ("IT BA") will work on a variety of projects related to the various systems, websites, reporting and processes used by and for our companies. The IT BA will be the liaison between the business users, QA/Testers, Technical Testers, and the Application, Website and Data Warehouse Development Teams to provide technical solutions to meet business needs. This person will be a key player in the setting of priorities, definition of delivery scope, functional and non-functional requirements, agile user stories, and acceptance criteria.
The primary focus for this role is to be the primary contact point for all data visualization and reporting needs within the organization. The IT BA will work with other members of the IT department in a collaborative environment to design, create, and enhance high quality and maintainable reports, dashboards, and applications. The analyst will document user requirements and acceptance criteria for the deliverables as needed and work as liaison between the data team, the business users, and the test team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as liaison and single point of contact for department leads, SME's, and the data team
- Meet with business users to understand process and document business needs and solutions
- Analyze and document business processes and requirements
- Translate business needs and business process flows into detailed, testable and traceable requirements
- Create agile epics, features, user stories, use cases, and related acceptance criteria
- Work with stakeholders to prioritize work and scope sprints
- Communicate effectively to provide updates to stakeholders on items like status, risks, expectations, and timeline
- Analyze data/query data sources to understand the nature of the data/relationships to answer business questions
- Assist with the Integration of BI solutions into the company culture and business processes
- Perform or oversee quality assurance testing and manage user acceptance process
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and LICENSES
- Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, IS, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience managing system requirements using Azure DevOps, JIRA or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Agile methodologies
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Analyst in the insurance or financial services industry is a plus
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills to review complex business problems to determine root cause and potential solutions
- Strong communication, facilitation, prioritization, and scope management skills, while working on multiple parallel projects
- Ability to manage deliverables in an agile environment, while meeting established deadlines
- Ability to develop clear functional requirements and comprehensive acceptance criteria
- Ability to create business process flow and data flow diagrams
- Ability to create agile user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria
- Conduct solution design walkthroughs and demos with project team members and business leads
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to business users and tech teams
- Knowledge of PowerBI or equivalent reporting / analytical
- Strong knowledge of data modelling concepts and SQL is a plus
- Strong knowledge of MS Office suite, especially excel (pivot table, charting, advanced functions) is a plus
- Knowledge of policy, billing, insurance terminology, and/or claims processing within the insurance vertical is a plus
