POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for reviewing and supporting all business applications and integrations for current and proposed business operations and considering options for improvement. These operations also include but aren't limited to financial reports, key performance indicators (KPIs) and other key metrics. The Business Analyst will assess the overall effectiveness of a business and its departments to devise solutions to problems as well as improve processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides service to collaborate with organizational and departmental stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Proactively create and maintain professional documentation and knowledge base articles
  • Responsible for tier 2 technical support of systems and related applications including but not limited to Synapse WMS, EDI, API integrations, and others as identified.
  • Periodically participates in the off-hour service calls supporting operations, primarily as a point of escalation for Subject Matter Expert (SME) level resolution.
  • Supports any related WMS hardware peripherals and related software such as RF handhelds, label printers and report printers.
  • Resolves issues following standard Service Desk procedures in a timely, accurate, and customer service focused manner.
  • Operational SME of Synapse WMS and other applications as assigned, working hand in hand with both Operations and Technology Services to identify opportunities for continuous improvement within operations by leveraging existing WMS functionality or leading initiatives to design, develop and deploy new functionality to support and drive operational efficiency and optimization.
  • Works in conjunction with Technology Services management to manage systemic improvements as they occur, including but not limited to regression testing / UAT for new configurations and functionality, documentation and presentation of enhancements to operations and other resources, as well as deployment support during go-live phase.
  • Engagement and ownership of WMS and related applications support projects as needed.

  • Serves as a senior level mentor to other team members.
  • Serve as a liaison between Operations and Customers to observe and identify issues or needs as they arise and design strategic planning to resolve or achieve business needs in a timely manner.
  • Participate in customer-facing meetings and QBRs that will include members from non-technical departments.
  • Occasional travel outside of designated region to remote sites, customer meetings, and vendor events as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, supply chain management, information technology, or similar subject area. 8+years of information technology experience in supply chain /third party logistics may be substituted for college degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, finance, and business management required. Relevant experience in a logistics setting is preferred.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft business applications such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Direct experience supporting a Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) package, or a Tier 1 ERP system with an advanced WMS module.
  • Direct experience in an industry with a strongly regulated or complex supply chain (E-Commerce/Direct to Consumer, Retail, Grocery, etc.)
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of supporting Supply Chain technologies & standards including UPC/GTINs, GS/UCC128 Labeling, VICS Bills of Lading Strong SQL Skills etc.
  • Knowledge of electronic interfacing methods (EDI, XML, Flat File, etc.) and related transport methods (EDI VAN, AS2, SFTP, etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (Bilingual Spanish/English preferred). Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills and both verbal and written communication skills with ability to work well under pressure and solve problems across a variety of business processes. Strong analytical skills with an ability to present views in a convincing, creative, clear, and impactful manner.
  • Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines. Strong emphasis on organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus.
