IT Director

The IT Director is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and implementing the technology strategy of an organization. This position oversees the management of IT infrastructure, ensures systems meet organizational needs, and drives technological innovation to support business goals.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare and manage the IT budget.
  • Develop IT roadmap and strategy in support of the company and partner strategies
  • Partner closely with business leaders and senior management on company needs. Anticipate future needs and proactively identify solutions based on company's strategic direction
  • Develop and architect infrastructure and software projects and initiatives to provide an integrated technology environment, optimizing long-term hardware, licensing and maintenance needs
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to provide operational efficiencies
  • Continuous review and optimization of company's licensing needs and software library
  • Manage the IT department staff to ensure quality delivery of services including hiring, training, performance management, career planning, promotions, etc.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and departmental spending on outsourced solutions
  • Maintain an overall organizational model, department standards, procedures and controls to ensure effective, secure and consistent delivery of services
  • Continually develop, improve, audit and maintain a business continuity plan
  • Remain current in the utilization of technology by attending training sessions, seminars and workshops.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Proven leadership skills, including demonstrated ability to build and develop a highly productive IT team.
  • Knowledgeable on current and emerging technology trends. Experienced in implementing best in class solutions.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to interact at all levels/functions of the organization to drive integrated IT planning throughout the business.
  • Experience working with VMware environments running Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server, SharePoint Server, Remote Desktop Services and other Microsoft solutions
  • Experience with Cisco networking, telecommunications, and multi-site environments
  • Experience with user support/helpdesk functions
  • Customer-centric approach to IT; accessible, responsive, and accommodating to customers


EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in information technology with at least 7 years in a leadership position.
