We are seeking an IT Manager who is adaptable, proactive, and ready to take on the challenge of scaling operations within a rapidly growing company. As the first full-time hire in this department, you'll operate in a player-coach capacity to establish and manage systems, infrastructure, and processes, providing hands-on support, managing access and security, and building scalable solutions. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for process improvement. This role will report to the Senior Director of Operations.

What you'll be doing:

IT System Management (40%)
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation and maintenance of all internal IT systems, hardware, and software across multiple offices and remote employees.
  • Manage software installations, updates, and configuration for all teams, ensuring proper licensing and compliance.
  • Implement and maintain the company's network infrastructure both on-site and remotely, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity.
  • Monitor system performance and take proactive measures to address issues before they impact operations.
  • Assess, select, and manage IT vendors and third-party service providers, ensuring they meet the company's needs and security standards.

Helpdesk & Technical Support (30%)
  • Provide technical support to employees, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT-related queries and requests, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Document common issues and solutions to create an internal knowledge base for future reference.

Access & Security Management (20%)
  • Manage user access to IT systems and resources, including setting up new accounts, managing permissions, licensing, and performing regular access audits.
  • Implement and monitor security protocols, ensuring company data and systems are protected against internal and external threats.
  • Enforce IT security best practices across teams, including setting up multi-factor authentication (MFA) and conducting regular security training.

Process development & Improvement (10%)
  • Establish, document, and continually improve IT-related processes, workflows, and policies to optimize efficiency as the company scales.
  • Develop and execute onboarding and offboarding procedures for employees, including hardware and software setup and access management.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to understand emerging IT needs and build scalable solutions to support business growth.


Who we're looking for:
  • 5+ years of experience in IT support, system administration, or a similar technical role, ideally in a fast-paced or scaling environment.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including cloud-based systems, network security, and hardware/software troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with common SaaS tools and platforms, such as project management tools (e.g. Jira, Asana), communication platforms (e.g., Slack, Teams), and cloud storage solutions (e.g. Google Workspace, Microsoft 365).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, including threat mitigation, data encryption, and secure access management.
  • Experience with IT ticketing systems and user support processes (i.e. FreshService)
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical issues to non-technical staff in an approachable way.
  • Must be flexible with working hours in order to meet our customer's needs and respond to inquiries in a timely matter


Compensation:
  • The salary band for this role is $80,000 - 100,000. Most candidates should expect compensation toward the mid-point of this band to start.
