DESCRIPTION IT Manager

BASIC FUNCTION

Oversee organization's day to day IT operations as well as long range IT planning and implementations to meet future IT needs. Working closely with users and department heads as well as technology providers. Keeping abreast of new and evolving technologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Scope, develop, and implement multilayered security policies, procedures, software, and hardware following industry standards.
  • Work with both internal and external IT resources to maintain as well as implement new functionalities.
  • Maintain budgets, contracts, inventories, documentation, and maintenance agreements.
  • Oversee systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and assure these systems are fully functional.
  • Work with users, managers, and project teams to scope, design, and implement systems.
  • Maintain, and anticipate necessary expansion of, network and communications infrastructures.
  • Present ideas, solutions, and training to diverse groups of people.
  • Coordinate with and assist users, peers, and managers in different countries.
  • Approach solutions with the entire company's workflow in mind.

  • Should have a strong working knowledge of:
    • SQL databases
    • SharePoint
    • ERP
    • Active Directory
    • Azure AD / Entra ID
    • Cisco networking equipment
    • Computer and server equipment
  • Know the difference between an enterprise solution and a home solution and why it matters.
  • Skilled in Visual Basic warrants additional consideration.
  • Understanding that it's a small department and no IT responsibilities are beneath the position.
  • After hours, weekend, and the occasional holiday work is sometimes required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • 4-year IT/IS/CS degree plus 3 years' experience, or 2-year IT/IS/CS degree plus 5 years' experience, or 8 years work experience
  • Excellent English, written and verbal, communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team

PHYSICAL CAPACITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Follow safety requirements for the role
  • Lift up to 10 pounds
  • Work under deadline pressure within an environment that demands attention to safety and detail
  • Sit, stand, and reach with hands or arms for extended periods of time
  • Walking, walking on stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching are required
