The mission of the Corporate Information Technologies Department (CIT) is to leverage information technology to enable IFC's strategic priorities and support IFC's business and operations. The department provides state-of-the-art information and technology solutions to support IFC's operations by acting as the technology partner and enabler.
CIT seeks a highly motivated, experienced, and versatile Scrum Master with Intranet domain knowledge and strong business analytical and technical skills to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of highly skilled, diverse, and technical professionals and contribute to the department's priorities. The position will be based in Washington, DC.
Roles & Responsibilities:
The Scrum Master plays a key role within the Agile framework and ensures the implementation of Scrum practices and principles effectively.
Facilitate the adoption and implementation of Scrum practices within the team.
Ensure the team adheres to Agile principles and values.
Foster a collaborative and productive environment for the development team.
Facilitation and Coaching:
- Guide and coach the Scrum Team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Retrospective).
- Support the Product Owner in managing the product backlog and ensuring clarity and prioritization of tasks.
- Assist the team in self-organization and cross-functionality.
Impediment Removal:
- Identify and remove impediments that hinder the team's progress.
- Shield the team from external interruptions and distractions.
Continuous Improvement:
- Promote continuous improvement practices within the team.
- Encourage and facilitate retrospectives to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement action plans to address identified issues and enhance team performance.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Foster a culture of open communication and collaboration between the team and stakeholders.
- Act as a liaison between the development team and external parties (e.g., management and clients).
Metrics and Reporting:
- Track and report on key Agile metrics (e.g., velocity, burn-down charts).
- Provide regular updates on team progress and performance to stakeholders.
Selection Criteria
Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience OR Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role.
Experience in implementing complete lifecycle projects in the Intranet or Knowledge Management domains
Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle best practices and Agile methodologies
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification.
Knowledge and application of enterprise IT governance frameworks, principles, and practices
Knowledge of IT investment management processes
Flexibility to work both independently and collaboratively in an agile environment, including virtual collaboration with remote colleagues
Ability to work with staff at various levels across multiple locations
Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
