POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Product Manager, Workday plays a pivotal role in empowering Vertex Education's mission of changing lives through education by managing and optimizing the Workday platform. This position oversees the platform's strategy and roadmap across all modules, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. By fostering collaboration with stakeholders, managing vendor relationships, and integrating innovative features, the Product Manager ensures Workday drives efficiency and supports Vertex and its clients in achieving outstanding results.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Workday Platform Strategy and Roadmap
  • Develop and manage the Workday roadmap across all modules, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Research and evaluate Workday's bi-annual feature releases, integrating applicable updates into platform strategies.
  • Prioritize the backlog of platform enhancements based on organizational needs and ROI.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to set long-term platform goals and strategies.


Stakeholder Collaboration and Engagement
  • Facilitate communication with internal teams to gather requirements for platform enhancements.
  • Align technical development efforts with business priorities through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Organize stakeholder training sessions for new Workday features or updates.
  • Serve as the primary contact for Workday-related inquiries and escalations.


Vendor Management
  • Oversee relationships with Workday and external vendors, ensuring quality deliverables.
  • Manage contracts, budgets, and Statements of Work (SOWs) for vendor projects.
  • Track vendor performance to ensure adherence to service-level agreements.
  • Coordinate vendor tasks for major system upgrades or new module implementations.


Change Management and Communication
  • Lead change management initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new Workday features.
  • Develop communication plans to inform stakeholders about platform updates.
  • Partner with business leaders to assess impacts of platform changes on workflows.
  • Proactively manage risks associated with platform updates or new feature rollouts.


Platform Optimization and Operational Excellence
  • Collaborate with functional Workday analysts to assess system performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Ensure continuous improvement efforts align with organizational goals to enhance overall efficiency.
  • Identify and implement system improvements to streamline workflows and improve user experience.
  • Drive initiatives that maximize Workday's capabilities to support business needs and operational success.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience managing Workday or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Proven experience with vendor management, including contracts, budgeting, and vendor performance tracking.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Familiarity with all Workday modules, including HRIS, Finance, and Procurement.
  • Experience leading change management initiatives for technology platforms.
  • Certifications such as Workday Pro or equivalent ERP-related credentials.
  • Experience in the education industry or with mission-driven organizations.
  • Knowledge of Workday's reporting and analytics tools (e.g., dashboards, custom reports).


BACKGROUND CHECKS:

  • The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at all times.


PHYSICAL AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Travel between campuses is required from time to time.
  • This position requires the need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) on occasion.
  • This position may require sitting for long periods at times, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping and long periods of concentration.
