As part of the ongoing evolution of our technology ecosystem, we are expanding our project/program management capabilities with the addition of this role. The IT Project Manager will be responsible for planning and managing the development and delivery of business systems solutions and associated technical support services to support business objectives and ongoing operations across HR, Store Operations, Finance, and other business domains such as Supply Chain & Merchandising. You will report to the Sr Director, Marketing and Corporate Systems.

Total Wine & More is looking for a Project Manager to join our IT Corporate Systems team in our Bethesda, MD office. The IT Project Manager will be responsible for planning and managing the development and delivery of business systems solutions and associated technical support services to support business objectives and ongoing operations across HR, Store Operations, Finance, and other business domains such as Supply Chain & Merchandising. You will report to the Sr Director, Marketing and Corporate Systems.
You will
- Lead and manage assigned projects throughout the entire project lifecycle from inception through deployment and closing, including post-implementation support.
- Collaborate closely with product owners, business leaders, and technical stakeholders to drive scoping and planning for projects.
- Develop and maintain project management documents in line with established methodologies. This includes project plans, resource plans, monthly financial reports, risk logs, and weekly status reports.
- Provide project management support for large-scale initiatives, collaborating with project and product leads across departments.
- Monitor and control project budget, scope, schedule, progress, and risks, ensuring regular and timely communication to internal and external project stakeholders.
- Support the IT Governance Process for Corporate Systems initiatives, including scoping/feasibility, intake, business case and ROI analysis, RFP/RFIs, and more.
- Assist with business analyst responsibilities as required, including requirements elicitation and documentation, preparing test cases, coordinating testing, tracking/resolving open issues, backlog management, and coordinating maintenance, configuration changes, patches, and releases.
You will come with
- 7+ years of experience in a Project Manager role, primarily managing IT/SaaS projects such as system implementations, data migrations, data integrations, upgrades, and enhancements at mid to large-sized organizations.
- Experience with HR, Finance, or Supply Chain projects, systems, processes, and/or functions is preferred.
- Experience with the SDLC and project management methodologies throughout the entire lifecycle.
- Proficient in serving as a liaison between internal/external technical resources and business users/leaders, leading project steering committees, and providing project updates to the leadership team.
- Ability to work across a range of methodologies including waterfall, hybrid/iterative, and agile/lean/SCRUM, based on project type and business expectations.
- Proven experience leading and facilitating meetings, taking notes, distributing project updates and tasks, following up and following through to ensure project deliverables and issues are addressed on time and on budget.
- Strong analytical mindset to drive informed solution considerations and decision-making.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, conflict management, and relationship-building skills.
- PMP Certification and previous experience as a Systems or Business Analyst is preferred.
