Job Summary

Our Information Technology team here at ACC is looking for an IT Purchasing Coordinator to oversee the planning, procurement, acquisition, and decommissioning life cycle of College-based computing resources.

Some of the responsibilities of this role include the following:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the procurement of client-facing hardware and software, including but not limited to, all software licenses, laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and audio-visual equipment, while ensuring efficient coordination from initial specification to deployment.
  • Engage with faculty and staff across the College to understand their technology needs, provide expert recommendations, and ensure acquisitions align with internal standards, capabilities, and available resources.
  • Manage the procurement process, both purchasing and receiving, for IT hardware, software, and services by coordinating purchase requests, evaluating vendors, building solutions proposals, and ensuring timely delivery of assets.
  • Manage overall technology inventory by maintaining an accurate inventory of hardware and software utilized by ACC to support procurement planning, overseeing asset management process, and coordinate with departments to ensure proper allocation and disposal of outdated equipment.
  • Assist in the implementation of continuous process improvement and quality control methods by providing training and expert consultation to enhance operational efficiency and performance.
  • Analyze and make forecasted recommendations on college, division, and department level budgets for IT related needs.

Detail- Oriented & Organized - Tracks multiple vendor contracts, renewal dates, and purchase orders without missing a beat ensuring proper documentation and compliance with College purchasing policies.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
  • Four (4) years' experience working in technology or equivalent combination of relevant education, certifications, and/or experience.
  • Knowledge of current computer technology including common devices, software, Windows, and MacOS.
  • Experience utilizing Adobe Acrobat and Office 365, particularly Excel, SharePoint and Teams.

PREFERRED
  • Two (2) years hands-on budget development and management preferably within an IT function.


  • Direct experience working in the higher education industry.
  • Experience creating and managing a computer equipment lifecycle plan.
  • Experience with Jira Service Management software.
  • Experience with Formstack and Formstack Sign.
  • Prior training experience, especially utilizing classroom technology.
  • IAITAM certifications.
