Senior IT Quality Assurance Lead
Project: Revenue Cycle System Replacement (Athena IDX)
Location: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center - Buffalo, NY
Project Length: 18 months +
Location: Remote or Onsite
Position Summary:
Roswell Park is looking for an experienced Senior IT Quality Assurance (ITQA) professional to manage the Software Quality Assurance of a large multi-million-dollar revenue cycle system replacement. Roswell Park is moving off their legacy system and has purchased Athena IDX and over the next couple years will plan, design, and execute a full system replacement for their registration, scheduling, and billing processes. The Senior ITQA Lead will partner with the vendor and the implementation partner to set the test strategies for all phases of the testing cycle and ensure the project delivers into production with a high degree of quality.
Primary Job Duties:
  • Leads and reports on reviews and tests of software systems and products to verify compliance to requirements.
  • Leads the effort to work with software developers to resolves defects through system modification, reconfiguration, or workarounds.
  • Establishes objectives for testing cycles. Develops test plans for all testing phases including Data Conversion, System, Integration and User Acceptance Testing.
  • Leads the team in planning and estimating quality assurance deliverables.
  • Ensures all requirements are planned for, all test cases are linked to the proper requirement(s), all test cases are executed, all defects are updated, and root causes have been researched, communicated, and addressed.
  • ttends requirements sessions and identifies quality risks and defects early in the process to prevent failures.
  • Oversees and leads the efforts to monitor adherence to quality standards and identifies and reports on quality risks, working with the team to identify mitigation strategies if necessary.
  • Oversees the tracking of quality assurance metrics such as defect density and open defect counts. Oversees team members responsible for testing.
  • Facilitates defect management, triage and prioritization meetings
  • Communicate and report quality metrics and quality risks to all levels of the organization including C level leadership.
  • Set test strategy and plans for complex projects that include data conversion, system, integration, and user acceptance testing.
  • Provides quality assurance leadership and guidance to the members of the project team and project leadership team.

Required Experience and Skills:
  • 10+ years' experience managing and leading the Software Quality Assurance and Testing on complex integrated programs in corporate environments.
  • 10+ years' experience working as an ITQA Lead or Test Manager for large transformational projects managing all aspects of the testing cycle including System, Integration, User, and Data conversion testing.
  • Work with vendors, developers, and business partners to triage and prioritize issues for resolution.
  • Frequently identify significant product, organizational, and process opportunities and drive them to fruition often without explicit direction and resourcing
  • Experience with Automated testing with UFT/Selenium, API testing, SQL
  • Experience going through a full product lifecycle, integrating customer feedback into product requirements, driving prioritization and execution
  • dvanced communication skills with the ability to report to C Level leaders and communicate quality risks to leadership using power point and presentation skills.
  • Hands on experience and mentoring in:
    • Writing test strategies and test plans on large complex corporate initiatives.
    • Writing test cases with and without documented requirements provided.
    • Producing daily, weekly, monthly test metrics on large corporate initiatives.
  • Hands on experience with Micro Focus ALM or other test management software.
  • dvanced knowledge with software testing concepts: regression testing, negative testing, White Box v. Black Box, functional v. non-functional testing, defect reporting standards, reproducibility of results.
