Compensation:$103K to $130K Annually

Job Summary

The IT Regional Area Manager - West plays a critical role in scaling IT operations to support the company's rapid expansion in the Western U.S. This hands-on role involves providing leadership, technical expertise, and customer service according to company core values. Initially serving as the primary IT resource, the manager will transition to managing a regional team and IT projects, aligning IT operations with long-term growth and expansion strategies.

Essential Job Functions

  • Conduct initial assessments of IT infrastructure, systems, and support needs across newly acquired locations in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah and Colorado.
  • Provide hands-on support and technical guidance for the Western region, transitioning to a supervisory role as the team grows.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between regional locations, IT staff, and the Director of IT.
  • Develop and execute a strategic hiring plan to build out a regional IT support team.
  • Ensure IT support services align with operational needs, gathering feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Establish and maintain regional IT performance metrics, ensuring consistent service levels and uptime.
  • Serve as the region's technical escalation point for advanced troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Contribute backend specialization in either networking or systems administration.
  • Oversee and assist in maintaining hardware and software infrastructure, ensuring systems are up-to-date and secure.
  • Support network security, system backup, disaster recovery planning, and cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Plan and execute regional IT projects, ensuring alignment with corporate IT strategy.
  • Collaborate with Business Unit Leaders to understand operational requirements and recommend IT solutions.
  • Manage the implementation of new technologies, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for IT procedures, system configurations, and troubleshooting guidelines.
  • Provide both on-site and remote IT support across multiple locations.
  • Mentor and guide IT Support Technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure timely resolution.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Strong leadership skills with proven experience in managing IT teams across multiple locations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel within the region as needed to support local teams and business units.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.


Required Qualifications

  • At least 5+ years of IT experience with a strong background in IT operations and support.
  • At least 2 years of proven leadership experience in managing IT teams.
  • At least 2 years of technical expertise in either networking or systems administration.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Project management experience overseeing IT initiatives from planning to execution.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in agriculture, food production, or manufacturing industries.
  • IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, MCSA
  • Project Management certifications PMP, Agile or ScrumMaster
  • Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, modernization practices towards cloud computing platforms, ELT data practices, virtualization technologies, and cybersecurity frameworks.


Work Environment

The work environment for the IT Regional Area Manager - West is dynamic and requires adaptability to various settings. The role involves travel within the assigned multi-state region, necessitating frequent site visits and IT support across Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah and Colorado. Flexible work arrangements are available, allowing for a mix of on-site and remote work to accommodate project demands and personal preferences. Due to the critical nature of IT operations, the position may require emergency support and off-hours availability to address urgent IT incidents and ensure the smooth functioning of systems.
