NextStar Energy (NSE) is an innovative joint venture company between LG and Stellantis. It will be Canada's first large-scale lithium-ion EV battery production plant when it begins production at the Twin Oaks site in Windsor, Ontario. The manufacturing facility will have an annual targeted production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas.

The IT Security Manager reports directly to the Security Senior Manager, leading the IT Specialist team.

The position will oversee our Cybersecurity specialist team as they develop, monitor and improve security measures to protect the organization's computer networks, connected devices, data and information. Identify potential vulnerabilities related to information leakage or intrusion in a manufacturing business setting, focusing on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Mitigate and address risks by preventing unauthorized access, disruption and destruction to systems and the data and information they contain. Respond to cyber incidents and handle disaster recovery. This is done through a comprehensive understanding of IT and security technologies to help ensure a safe work environment.

This person will be responsible for:
  • Threat detection, analysis, and response.
  • Developing and implementing IT security policies.
  • Managing network and system security.
  • Conducting vulnerability assessments and security testing.
  • Incident response and investigation.
  • Risk analysis and mitigation planning.
  • Researching and staying updated on the latest security trends and technologies.
  • Conducting security training and awareness activities for employees.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Cybersecurity preferred.
  • 5+ years experience in network security, threat intelligence, and risk analysis.
  • 3+ years experience in IT incident response.
  • 2+years of leading a team of IT professionals.
  • Familiarity with security laws and regulations (PIPEDA, GDPR, PITA).
  • Security framework experience (NIST, ISO27001).
  • Understanding and configuring firewalls, VPNs, and encryption technologies.
  • Strong grasp of operating systems and network protocols (Windows, TCP/IP).


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Security certifications (CISSP, CEH, CISM, CompTIA Security+, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cloud security tools and techniques.
  • Fluent in MS Office Tools (365, Teams).
  • Strong problem solving skills and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and teamworking skills.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and self-development.
