Overview:

CBC is seeking an experienced, hands-on IT professional specializing in Microsoft Server technologies to assist with the design, implementation, and management of the server components of our company. This position requires a deep understanding of traditional implementations of Microsoft Windows Servers, Active Directory, Nutanix virtualization, security principles, integrations, and best practices. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on self-starter with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. This is not an entry level position.

  • Operate tactically and strategically to develop and execute actionable plans for platform environments.
  • Analyze current on-premises Windows Server, Nutanix, and Active Directory environments, recommending improvements for monitoring, disaster recovery, optimization, and automation.
  • Responsible for escalations regarding systems, solutions, and storage infrastructure.
  • Physically responsible for the installation, de-installation, and maintenance of racked infrastructure.
  • Recommend, develop, and maintain platform architecture designs and controls for servers (physical & virtual), appliances, storage, etc.
  • Develop, enforce, and maintain roadmaps, guidelines, frameworks, and policies aligning with best practices for on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Lead by example to mentor junior staff and reinforce good behaviors.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and influence key stakeholders.
  • Stay current with the latest relevant trends and provide expert advice and guidance on their impact on our technologies.
  • Adapt quickly to change and respond to ambiguous situations.
  • Experience in performing Proof-of-Concepts, Cost-Benefit, and/or Proof-of-Value to support solution purchase decisions
  • Partner with network, security, and service desk to intentionally design functional security and usability into all projects and processes.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, including speaking, listening, and writing.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or an associate degree with relevant certifications - Microsoft strongly preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft servers, solutions, and PCs, including patch testing and deployment.
  • 4+ years' hands-on experience in Active Directory, identity/privileged access management, GPO, forest/schema, and Sites & Services. Physical server infrastructure and Windows Server platform design.
  • 3+ years' experience with Nutanix virtualization (VMware acceptable)
  • 3+ years' experience implementing backup solutions and disaster recovery.
  • Excellent understanding of network architectures, operating systems, email, certificates, and security technologies.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Microsoft certifications.
  • Nutanix certifications.
  • Hands on experience with automation and orchestration.
  • PowerShell, Power Automate, Python.
  • Experience with Change Management.
  • Experience with Linux servers.
  • Hands on experience with Azure, Entra ID, and AWS.

  • Essential physical requirements include standing, stooping, lifting, climbing ladders, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, seeing, hearing, and typing.
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Able to navigate a data center with raised floors and tight spaces.

  • Primarily working in an office or studio environment. Occasionally working in data center or infrastructure closets.
  • Handling infrastructure, batteries, cabling, etc.
  • Position requires participation in a 24x7 on-call scheduled rotation including occasional weekends and holidays.
  • Occasional travel to other CBC sites as necessary.
