Summary of Position:
Provide excellent customer service to the college community using information technology services. Serve as Tier 2 support for ITS help desk requests. Under general supervision, perform basic to advanced technical tasks related to computer hardware and operating systems, network devices and cabling, telecommunications software and hardware, printers and multi-functional devices, software applications, databases, and other devices and solutions supported by IT Services. This is an exempt position that reports to the IT Service Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Perform at first level of escalation (Tier 2) for requests sent from ITS Help Desk.
  • Serve as technical resource on IT projects; perform assigned tasks on schedule and within scope.
  • Function as specialist for assigned systems and solutions within LWTech's IT portfolio.
  • Provide technical resolution primarily on-site; escalate unresolved requests to next level within ITS or vendor partner.
  • Receive, unpack, inventory, assemble, configure, test, return, deploy, move, and surplus a wide variety of IT devices and applications.
  • Coordinate vendor on-site warranty repair.
  • Perform standard maintenance, preventative maintenance, modification, testing and debugging. Test according to appropriate standards.
  • Review system logs and messages to identify events and errors. Track and maintain inventory, supplies, and materials.
  • Research product information and review documentation; investigate and assess new software and equipment.
  • Demonstrate and assist employees with software and system operations; consult and assist manufacturer's representatives in the installation of computer and network equipment and software
  • Deploy applications across various environments using a System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to ensure efficient software distribution management
  • Introductory understanding of scripting languages
  • Maintain ITS documentation according to standards.
  • Follow IT security procedures at all times; inform and assist college employees with IT security procedures.
  • As training allows, provide backup to other ITS employees.
  • Advise and inform college staff regarding department services; identify potential problem areas and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Ensure areas of responsibility operate within the policies and procedures of the College and applicable governing agencies; recommend policies and procedures related to information technology services.
  • Assist supervisor with department planning of goals and objectives; plan, schedule, train, and direct work activities of employees of lower classifications as assigned; assume and effectively discharge other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

IT Technician & Desktop Certifications
  • A+ Certified Computer Technician or similar preferred.
  • Experience beyond supporting PC's to include Apple Products, IP Networks, mobile devices, VOIP phones, and/or classroom teaching technology.
Position Qualifications
  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience related to the above functions.
  • One year minimum IT experience installing and maintaining computer software, hardware, telecommunications, or network infrastructure equipment; or providing customer technical support.
  • Working technical knowledge of the latest operating systems, network protocols, and standards.
  • Knowledge in deploying applications in SCCM
  • Ability to read and understand all relevant documents, including OEM guides, procedural documentation, and technical manuals.
  • Good customer-service orientation.
  • Experience in scripting for automation and system in management

Compensation & Work Schedule
Salary is $6,909.00 per month. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position. Work hours are Monday-Friday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. Occasional early morning, evening and weekend hours may be required.
