Alamo Group is currently accepting applications to fill an IT Solutions Architect position at its Corporate Headquarters in Seguin, TX. The person in this role will assist the IT Business Technology Manager in managing Alamo Group's information and technology solution architecture. The Solution Architect will facilitate business technology selection in line with the company's vision and priorities and lead priority projects, including new solution platform implementations and onboarding new acquisitions into the company's solution architecture.

The person in this role will assist the IT Business Technology Manager in managing Alamo Group's information and technology solution architecture. The Solution Architect will facilitate business technology selection in line with the company's vision and priorities and lead priority projects, including new solution platform implementations and onboarding new acquisitions into the company's solution architecture.
The architect will also guide colleagues on design options and when alternatives must be implemented. The business technologies in scope include solutions for all functions across Alamo Group, including manufacturing, sales, marketing, finance, supply chain, logistics, safety, sustainability, human resources, etc. This role works closely with company leadership, project sponsors, corporate departments, operations facilities, and external resources to evaluate requirements, solutions, and a project approach.
The IT Solutions Architect will:
Analyze and evaluate the current system architecture to identify areas for improvement. Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions. Collaborate with IT and business teams to gather requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications. Develop and maintain architectural documentation, including diagrams and design specifications. Ensure alignment of solutions with enterprise architecture standards and best practices. Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle. Conduct regular reviews of system performance and make recommendations for optimization. Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation. Identify opportunities, drive changes, and lead business technology initiatives, including enhancements, conversions, and upgrades. Create and manage a sound implementation plan for the development, testing, deployment and ongoing support of our business technology solutions, managing scope, schedule, risks, issues and costs during the project. Establish and maintain a network of super users across the company along with the key business and technology stakeholders to facilitate alignment, prioritization, training, documentation, communication, and completion of solutions for business needs. Facilitate improvements to both business processes and the data needed to support processes and associated reporting, analytics, and data integration requirements. Assess change readiness, ensure documentation of standard processes, communicate changes and monitor training of key stakeholders to ensure successful adoption, use and support of business technology changes. Manage the prioritization and resolution of business technology issues to ensure the integrity of Company processes, controls, and other reporting mechanisms. Perform additional duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
Knowledge of business functional areas, business management issues and related data structures Proficiency in programming languages (Java, .NET, Python, etc.) and software development methodologies Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture, cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and IT infrastructure Experience integrating various enterprise applications, APIs, and third-party services Able to facilitate the negotiation of conflicts amongst multiple stakeholders with varying perspectives Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and guide teams Strong project management and change management skills. Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to understand multiple perspectives Able to motivate, develop, and coach people to perform at their highest potential with the ability to select and implement the best teaching methods to facilitate desired outcomes. Able to build and foster effective business relationships with peers and other departments within and across the Company, from individual contributors to the Company's management team Ability to maintain proficiency with rapidly evolving technologies Effective conflict resolution skills Familiarity with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices Strong organizational skills: ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks Ability to manage team to deliver quality deliverables against specified timelines Experience in the implementation and integration of packaged software systems a plus Ability to work irregular hours or overtime as needed to support the needs of the organization Skilled and proficient with Microsoft 365 applications such as, Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field is required. Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in IT architecture, software development, or a related role.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, TOGAF, or equivalent certifications preferred.
