Duties * Serves within the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Information Operations (J6), Program Executive Office (J62) responsible for a variety of application analysis and integration services. * Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the J62HE FLIS Program Management Office on Risk Management Framework (RMF) and as a technical advisor for the continuous cybersecurity compliance monitoring of the FLIS application. * Serves as the J62HE RMF SME providing RMF/cybersecurity assistance and guidance to the assigned Program Manager I System Manager (PM/SM) for the FLIS program. * Serves within the J62H portfolio comprised of five major programs, including the Federal Logistics Information Services (FLIS) program. * Provides program guidance and advice within J62HE in the development and maintenance of applicable cybersecurity program plans, developing and managing Contingency and Disaster Recovery plans and ensuring Configuration Management .... * .... procedures are developed and implemented in accordance with applicable processes and procedures issued by the J61 Cybersecurity Division, and other various DoD and DLA policies and practices. * Evaluates and provides cybersecurity guidance and assessment on system development lifecycle efforts to ensure that baseline security safeguards are appropriately implemented. * Works in collaboration with the J62HE FLIS PM/SM to ensure proper implementation and management of all matters, technical and otherwise, involving the cybersecurity of the assigned FLIS application to include both legacy and .... * .... new transformational environments. Qualifications To qualify for an IT Specialist (INFOSEC), your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: * Performs analysis to ensure security controls are in place to facilitate and guarantee the confidentiality, integrity, authentication, and non-repudiation of the system(s). * Performs technical and management level assessments, reviews, and oversight for all information system artifacts to include documentation relevant to cybersecurity assessments and audits of information systems. * Recommends strategies for cyber risk management to minimize impacts of risks on the project success. * Works with various cyber security and IT technical experts to develop solutions which aid in eliminating or mitigating the identified vulnerabilities and/or non-compliant controls to enhance to the overall cybersecurity posture resulting in the timely resolution of identified issues. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
