Job Description ECS is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to work in Dayton, OH . ECS is seeking a System Administrator to join a team providing maintenance, operation, and sustainment support for Air Force Financial Systems Operations (AFFSO) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), OH. This position will be remote work out of Wright-Patterson AFB OH. In this role, you'll perform System Administrator functions, including being responsible for activities related to system administration. To be successful in this role, you will have senior level understanding of system log monitoring, backups, script creation and maintenance, operating system security, operating system patching, loading/configuring of new servers in on-prem and cloud(AWS) environments, hardware planning/architecture, and identification/resolution of problems within government networks. You will have strong knowledge of interpreting/drafting software requirements in a technically proficient manner as identified by the customer and providing technical advice on potential impacts requirements have on system sustainment. Specific tasks you will perform as a System Administrator include, but are not limited to: * Ensuring long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization. * Installing, maintaining, configuring, upgrading, and migrating hardware, software, and equipment to ensure integrity of computer applications * Deploying software releases and adhering to specific schedules * Managing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based AWS environments including EC2 instances and S3 buckets. * Implementing operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system. * Implementing security controls as directed by policy and the security specialist relating to information assurance procedures and systems. * Implementing and enforcing required Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) audit requirements. * Preparing activity and progress reports relating to the information systems audit function. * Providing second-tier support to end-users for PC, server, and hardware. * Handling problems that the first tier of help desk support is unable to resolve. * Interacting with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problem. * Simulating or recreating user problems to resolve operating difficulties. * Recommending systems modifications to reduce user problems. * Maintaining currency and the highest level of technical skill in field of expertise * Installing, supporting, and maintaining computer systems. * Performing contingency planning, assist with testing, diagnosing software and hardware failures to resolution and implementing and ensuring security preventive measures are fully functioning * Establishing, tracking, and managing ports, protocols, and services (PPS) within the appropriate PPS Management tools * Implementing, integrating, and managing the systems Primary Key Infrastructure (PKI) certificates. * Monitoring, analyzing and implementing Time-Compliance Network Orders (TCNO), Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) Packages, Critical Patch Updates (CPU), and other remediation activities required to maintain the systems security, integrity, and availability * Monitoring and enhancing system performance, and troubleshooting performance issues and outages in diverse enterprise environments * Coordinating with the appropriate organizations to resolve network, hardware, or related concerns * Scheduling, managing, verifying, and storing full system backups * Developing and maintaining AFM documentation for system operations, web server operations, backup and recovery, and system audit plans * Performing Restart and Recovery Procedures Required * US Citizenship required per contract * Active DoD Secret Clearance * 3 + years' experience in the field * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems * Security + Certification or higher * Experience in managing servers running Solaris, AIX, Linux, and HPUX servers in both production and development environments to include * Red Hat Linux Server Premium * VEEAM Backup and Replication * VMware virtualization * Experience with VM environment * Oracle WebLogic Server * AWS cloud services * Storage Area Network (SAN) and robotic tape library management * Physical hardware installation, setup, troubleshooting, and decommission * Experience supporting database, web server, and file server platforms with planning, sizing, security, backup and recovery, maintenance, and migration. * Experience supporting various enterprise tools in a team environment. * Experience identifying problems, building solutions, and standardizing both virtual and physical environments * Proven ability to design and develop technical reports and integrate them with report tools. * Understanding of system log monitoring, backups, script creation, privileged access management, and maintenance, operating system security, operating system patching, loading/configuring of new servers, hardware planning/architecture, and identification/resolution of problems within government networks Required Skills Red Hat Linux Server Premium VEEAM Backup and Replication VMware virtualization Experience with VM environment Oracle WebLogic Server AWS cloud services Storage Area Network (SAN) and robotic tape library management Physical hardware installation, setup, troubleshooting, and decommission Desired Skills Ensuring long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization.
