Department Profile:
Institutional Securities Technology (IST) is a technology division which develops enterprise systems in support of Morgan Stanley's Institutional Securities Group, including Equities, Fixed Income, Commodities, Investment Banking, Research, and Global Capital Markets. The Equities Sales and Trading Risk (ESTAR) department within IST provides technology solutions to the Equities Business.
This role is within the Equity Structured Products Trading department, which is a sub-department of ESTAR, and specializes in providing a range of systems which perform pre-trade and post-trade pricing and workflow, lifecycle management, secondary trading and manual trade entry for equity over the counter (OTC) and listed derivatives, and structured products.
Role:
An exciting opportunity to join the Product and Pricing squad within the Deal Formation and Trading chapter area in the ESPT department, whose primary responsibility will be enabling new products creation and pricing for the trading desks globally.
We are looking for a dynamic Java and/or a full stack Java developer who has the passion to work closely with the front office desks/stake holders, understand the desk requirements, work with the global team to implement the changes and responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the feature.
In addition, we are also looking for a team player who can work well within the strong technical team and help the evolution of the platform to support the ever-increasing demands of the business to be competitive in the marketplace while managing the complex regulations that governs the businesses across the globe.
Responsibilities including:
The candidate should have experience with design and development Java 8+, an aptitude for understanding complex enterprise-scale systems and good problem-solving abilities. A keen interest in the latest development tools and an enthusiasm for both technology and the business domain is required. Experience with HTML 5.0 and Angular is a plus.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $160,000 year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.

- Working in an Agile environment with our users across Sales, Trading, Operations and Strats to implement innovative business ideas and increase business efficiency in a complex platform
- Involve in the full development lifecycle of the project to ensure we iteratively deliver value to our stakeholders.
- Collaborate and engage with colleagues and technologists globally to drive both the platform's resiliency and scalability.
- Level 3 support to the users of the platform during the regional hours

- Good architectural knowledge, and experience working with frameworks & distributed environments.

- Pragmatic attitude to problem solving within a front office environment.
