Job Description:

Join our team of Transplant Surgeons, Hepatologists, Nephrologists, Advanced Practitioners and House Staff, to provide and coordinate multidisciplinary care for a specialized patient population. The Advanced Practitioner (APP) will co-manage kidney transplant and live donor kidney patients in a teaching facility. Under the direction of an attending physician, the APP is responsible for providing various preoperative, postoperative and medical care in the outpatient setting: formulation and implementation of a diagnosis and treatment plan, ordering and interpretation of laboratory tests, imaging studies, consults in the nephrology and transplant populations, prescribing and/or dispensing medications, educational counseling for patients and families.

Candidates must possess sufficient flexibility and motivation to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment where quality and caring come first. The ability to interact positively with various members of the multidisciplinary team, patients and their families is paramount to the success of this role. The candidate must also be comfortable providing inpatient consult coverage as needed.

Qualifications
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) with a valid license in the state and appropriate certification.
Must possess and maintain, or be eligible for, Mass DPH Controlled Substance registration and DEA registration.
Practitioners should have at least one year (but preferably three years) of Advanced Practice experience.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Empathetic, patient-centered approach.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Commitment to continuous learning.
