Not particularly - this is an on-site based lab manager role, person needs to be in labs most days of the week

What are the exact shift hours/schedule the contractor will be working/reporting? Normal 8/9-5 EST
What type of qualities/characteristics are you looking for in candidates to work best with your team? Proactive, group lead characteristics, can hold meetings, can reach out to groups on their own
When reviewing resumes, what stands out to you when looking for the right applicants? Lab experience, with at least 3-5 years of experience in a lab management capacity
What is your minimum education and years of work experience you think it most suitable for this role? Minimum would be GED/HS but bachelor's preferred with at least 3-5 years' experience in lab management of some sort
What education background would you wish your ideal candidate to have? You can deviate from the standard here - a doctorate is NOT needed
What industry experience do you wish to see in an ideal candidate for this role have and how many years of experience? Should have experience in running a lab, what equipment is needed, PM work/maintenance scheduling, knowledge of synthetics labs a plus. PHD candidates would be overqualified for the role.
There are four development laboratories at AMA within scope of the DSTS Lab Manager: 1-B-32, 3-B-11, 3-B-31, and 3-J-31. In addition, the lab manager may provide back-up support for the AMA Synthetic Scale-Up Lab (SUL). Office areas and labs beyond those listed here are out of scope.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Management of the DSTS laboratories:
Drive organization and improve productivity of facility through adherence to 5S principles.
Create and maintain digital lab occupancy plans (equipment, consumables, and personnel).
Initiate, coordinate, and track through completion work orders for facility and equipment repairs, maintenance, installation, and removal.
Coordinate/participate in scheduled lab cleanout activities (biannual) and safety walkthroughs (monthly).
Equipment and Instrument Owner
Coordinate preventative maintenance, calibration, daily system initializations, and repair service of equipment and instruments
Maintain process-related instrumentation, lab automation tools, reactor equipment and stocking of parts, accessories, and point-of-use consumables
Support laboratory/equipment software installations and upgrades/updates
Maintain online tracking tool to manage instrument usage and operational status
Inventory Maintenance and Chemical/Equipment Ordering & Shipping
Order and organize laboratory reagents and consumables to support laboratory experimentation
Generate purchase orders, chemical shipping documents, and equipment orders
Handle incoming/outgoing shipments of tools, ancillary processing equipment, and consumables and chemicals
