Responsibilities
Lead consultant on joint projects and initiatives in all health care settings (including, hospitals, nursing homes, community-based organizations) and the union; coach, mentor and develop Level I and II Consultants
Provide strategic consulting support on strategic priorities; addressing and present complex/sensitive issues
Partner with all levels of management (including C-Suite), physicians, technical staff, union officers and members; coordinate system-wide initiatives
Identify client developmental needs and resources to support needs (LMP, TUF, grant etc)
Create the strategy, work plan, and gather resources needed for interventions
Evaluate overall labor management or specific areas and make recommendations for improvement
Document progress and results of projects through case studies, reports to Directors, Senior sponsors, project management and other creative methods
Collaborate with union/management executive leadership to collect, analyze, and interpret data that support project/systems goals
Keep sponsors/clients up to date on trends and best practices
Maintain the confidentiality required of the organization and the department
Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management
Qualifications
Masters Degree in Labor Relations, Organizational Development, or equivalent years of experience required
Minimum ten (10) years training, consulting or adult education or other related experience in a labor-management environment required; to include 5 to 10 years in a leadership capacity,coaching and mentoring colleagues/ leaders
Working knowledge injoint labor management settings required; Mastery of all levels 1 & 2 Competencies
Advanced experience in facilitating process improvement methodologies (i.e. PDCA, Breakthrough, Work-Out; Lean; Six Sigma, etc) and project management; developing and delivering healthcare training and conducting evaluation activities
Knowledge of various OD intervention methods, OD consulting process (assessment design, intervention, evaluation, measurement, and reporting)
Excellent analytical skills: able to scan political terrain and identify areas of improvement
Strong understanding of collective bargaining practices and principles including interest-based approach; able to mediate simple conflicts between parties at departmental level
Excellentskills in organizational relational dynamics specifically as it relates to organizational design, labor and management relationships; able to decipher issues, underlying concerns and assist in moving towards desiredchange
Understands and can translate healthcare financing and impact on a system to multiple levels of both union and management
Able tomanage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
Demonstrated leadership skills in the education or training field; effectively able to influence, motivate and lead clientsat executive level,represent LMP/TEF in interaction with industry leaders, outside organizations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;strong active listening,good self awareness, recognizingimpact on others and ability to manage boundaries
Ability to travel to various locations in the New York City and Upstate NY area
Available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed
