Summary of Position:

The Software Engineer I, II, III provides technical design and engineering support within the Equipment Technology organization. This position is responsible for the design, delivery, and integration of Liberty Energy's software applications and platforms focused on equipment operations, health monitoring, and reliability. These applications utilize equipment telemetry data and leverage technologies such as machine learning and AI to enhance equipment performance and predict equipment failures. In this role, the individual will work with a team of engineers in support of this mission, with additional support from the wider technology organization to drive maximum value from digital equipment monitoring systems.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, technical engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • 2-5 years professional software engineering experience.
  • Proficient understanding of development principles and techniques as needed to take product ownership and ensure execution of business needs.
  • Experience in integrating and ensuring data flow from PLCs to edge computers and the cloud.
  • Ability to handle both front-end and back-end development, or specialization in one area with familiarity in the other.
  • Familiarity with front-end languages and tools with a specific focus on JavaScript/TypeScript, React, SCSS/CSS
  • Familiarity with one or more server-side languages such as Python or C#.
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and backend frameworks.
  • Knowledge or experience with database management systems such as SQL server or MongoDB.
  • Strong background in leveraging cloud technologies.
  • Strong architecture and design skills.
  • Working knowledge of code repository best practices and use.
  • Familiarity with Azure Dev Ops, Jira, or similar tools.
  • A creative mindset that drives innovation in solving business problems with the right toolset.
  • Passionate about technology with a self-driven interest to stay updated with the latest developments and design trends.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engineers and maintains the flow of data from PLCs to edge computers, cloud databases, web platforms and downstream applications.
  • Leads system design discussions and collaboration efforts with inter-departmental teams to develop innovative solutions.
  • Ensures the reliability, security, and scalability of data integration processes.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves any issues related to data flow and integration.
  • Documents development processes, system designs, and operational procedures.

Salary:

$75,000/YR - $165,000/YR

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
