Audubon Engineering is seeking a Laser Scanning Manager to join their team in our Houston, TX office. As Laser Scanning Manager, you will oversee and manage all aspects of laser scanning operations within our organization. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing laser scanning projects to ensure the collection of high-quality point cloud data. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent project management skills, and the ability to lead and develop a team of technicians.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of laser scanning technicians.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Supervise the collection of accurate 3D laser scan data on-site.
  • Manage the processing of raw scan data into usable formats, such as point clouds and 3D models.
  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures to maintain data accuracy and reliability.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and coordinate laser scanning efforts to meet project deadlines.
  • Allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and software, to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.
  • Monitor project progress, manage budgets, and ensure adherence to timelines.
  • Foster a collaborative working environment with other departments, including design, engineering, and project management teams.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure deliverables meet their needs.
  • Work closely with end users to optimize their workflow and address their technical needs.
  • Develop and deliver training to users on Laser Scanning tools, software features, shortcuts, and best practices.
  • Stay updated on the latest Laser Scanning software developments and emerging technologies to provide proactive support.
  • Integrate new tools and techniques into existing workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Integrate new tools and techniques into existing workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in laser scanning, surveying, or a related field, with a track record of managing projects and teams.
  • Relevant certifications in laser scanning technology or project management are preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of laser scanning technology, software, and data processing techniques.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
  • Proven experience with Faro & Leica Geosystems hardware and software.
  • Ability to complete required BASIC and Site-Specific safety training as necessary.
