Position Summary

The Lead Compliance Specialist is a key figure in maintaining the integrity and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. This role involves not only overseeing the education and enforcement of the policies among Independent Consultants, providing clarification and support to internal clients, but also exercising sound judgment in situations where guidelines are not clear-cut. The Lead Compliance Specialist is crucial in fostering a culture of ethical behavior and ensuring that all practices align with legal and company standards. By conducting thorough audits, delivering comprehensive training, and implementing corrective actions, when necessary, this individual plays a vital role in mitigating risks and upholding the company's commitment to compliance. day-to-day operations, conducting thorough audits, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties as assigned.
  • Overseeing the "Compliance Mitigate Risk" functionality which includes; monitoring, investigating, auditing, education, enforcing, and corrective action.
  • Handle escalated Compliance matters involving Consultant top leaders.
  • Create Compliance education tools and resources, and event presentations.
  • Assist with company asset and collateral reviews to ensure compliance.
  • Provide basic training and support to employees, Consultant and Customers on the Policies & Procedures, Terms & Conditions, Preferred Customer Terms & Conditions, and Compliance processes overall.
  • Process and respond to Consultant and Customer requests by email and/or telephone regarding compliance related matters.
  • Improve timeliness and effectiveness of the compliance response.
  • Ensuring the Compliance SOPs and up to date and correct.
  • Assist in preparation of reports to keep management informed of the Compliance Department's activities and status of investigations into suspicious activity.
  • Review and make recommendations as to the policies and procedures and related training, monitoring, and enforcement processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience in the direct selling industry, specifically relating to compliance.
  • Extensive Knowledge of FDA/FTC laws and regulations, specifically around dietary supplements and FTC laws relating to Direct Sales.
  • Experience with reviewing marketing/sales content and knowledge of knowing proper use of disclaimers according to FDA/FTC/NAD laws and regulations.
  • DSCP Certified

  • Must have ability to use Microsoft OneNote, Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others.
