The Terminal 5 (T5) Lead Construction Manager reports to the T5 Program Delivery Director and is ultimately responsible for managing and coordinating construction activities of the Design/Builder. The T5 Lead Construction Manager acts as the primary liaison for pre-construction and construction activities, including leading the safety, security and quality for the Program. The Terminal 5 Program covers the full demolition and rebuild of the Terminal 5 headhouse and concourse, as well as various enabling scopes to vacate the existing building.

The characteristics of the candidate shall display a solid understanding and experience in alternative delivery (i.e. Progressive Design-Build, CMAR, etc.) of mega-projects within an active operating environment (aviation, transportation, retail, manufacturing, etc.). The ability to think outside the box to strategically guide construction planning and to quickly solve complex issues will be critical to the program's success. Transparent communication with many stakeholders is a key ingredient to an effective construction manager.

The T5 Lead Construction Manager is responsible for managing the scope, cost, schedule and operational interfaces of all design and construction related activities for the project. The T5 Lead Construction Manager will be focused on schedule certainty, budget delivery and making sure that construction work meets the required quality standards while enforcing a strong health, safety, and environmental culture on the project. The T5 Lead Construction Manager will ensure the development and implementation of design, construction, testing, commissioning, turnover plans, impacts to the operations, ensuring that risk mitigation for construction activities are optimized, working and coordinating with stakeholders and ensuring LAWA standards are adhered to.

Job Requirements

Details:

Minimum Education Level

Bachelor's degree in Construction Managment, Engineering and/or other related technical field required.

Professionally licensed Architect and/or Engineer strongly preferred

Master's degree preferred

Optional certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP, etc. or any other relevant professional licensure and/or certifications

Minimum Years & Experience
20 years or more experience in managing the design of large, complex building projects, utilities and infrastructure improvements, preferably on airport projects

Experience with projects more than $500 million in value

Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR and Design/Build

Hourly rate: $95 - $110 DOE
