Responsibilities:
- Identify, extract/scrape, verify suitable data from different sources.
- Design and conduct exploratory data analysis (for example, statistical analysis/inferences/segmentation, anomaly detection, assumption testing, important factors/relationships detection).
- Define A/B tests, analyze A/B test results and statistical significance in A/B testing
- Formulate business problems with tunable parameters, present models or data results to different groups of stakeholders with data visualizations.
- Identify model evaluation metrics.
- Interprets data to identify trends and significant relationships that can be applied to future data sets.
- Develop algorithms that personalize/customize users' shopping experience.
- Lead and work with data scientists/engineers and platform engineers to develop search related features using advanced machine learning techniques.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS Degree required (MS or PhD preferred).
- 5+ years of hands-on industry experience in data science. Search or eCommerce experience preferred.
- Strong computer science fundamentals with proven problem solving skills.
- Experience in eCommerce product search, including its components, algorithms, and evaluation metrics. Expertise in at least one sub area.
- Deep understanding of ecommerce ClickStream data including query, catalog data, and customer satisfaction data
- Solid knowledge of machine learning and deep learning concepts
- Experience working with large data sets in big data environments
- Proficiency in Python/Spark, TensorFlow, SQL, Java, Kubeflow, Jupyter, GCP etc.
- Experience working with Hadoop and streaming data processing
