Job Summary
KBR is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our team and reside at our Las Cruces, NM office. The selected candidate will support projects around ground-based mobile satellite communication systems, antenna manufacturing, and radio frequency engineering.
The Lead Electrical Engineer will manage and serve as a functional team lead that applies principles and techniques of electrical engineering to support the organization. Will also research, develop, plan, design, and integrate electrical products and systems. The team Lead Electrical Engineer will ensure completion of engineering projects, participate in solving engineering problems in all phases of design, development, integration/implementation, testing and analysis.
Roles and Responsibilities
Research, design, modify, develop and evaluate systems, products, components, and applications by applying fundamental electrical engineering principles
Apply electrical engineering principles in areas of RF, power, AC/DC circuit, communications, and software
Validate vendor equipment performance and capabilities by developing testing methods, performing tests, and documenting test results
Conduct and evaluate final system performance through execution of test procedures and data analysis
Troubleshoot and resolve systems for satellite/radio frequency communications and power distribution
Will lead projects to completion by developing schedules to ensure technical performance is met and within cost
May perform site surveys and field installations
Communicate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines, manufacturing personnel, management, vendors, customers, and subcontractors
Prepare engineering documentation, i.e., drawings, project specifications, procedures, test data and results
Delegates and leads a team of electrical engineers
Abide by company policies, procedures, and AS9100 quality policy
Must hold a valid driver's license and have the ability to obtain a US Top Secret security clearance
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
Ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance
Must be a U.S. citizen
Minimum 4 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of the physics for RF communications
Experience working with mobile satellite communications systems
Experience drafting in AutoCad Electrical
Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, or wiring diagrams
Ability to work independently and in a cross functional team
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
