What you'll do

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, MI. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $170,000 - $200,000

What you'll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the all-electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Develop and publish the specifications and design requirements for the vehicle to meet the corrosion and water / air leakage requirements for all intended markets of sale.
- Responsible for evaluating vehicle designs and assessing the ability of the design to meet corrosion and water / air leakage requirements.
- Provide guidance to the engineering team on changes needed to meet the corrosion and water / air leakage requirements.
- Support the development of new specifications, requirements, and quality documents (Boundary diagram, p-diagram, DFMEA, etc.) related to vehicle corrosion and BIW sealing.
- Develop requirements for virtual and physical verification, including lab and field testing.
- Lead/participate in the root cause analysis and resolution of issues related to air and water leaks and corrosion protection.
- Proactively stay attuned to the customer experience and propose system improvements accordingly.
- Support the creation of new Best Practices and Lessons Learned.
- Be a key team member and liaison with all Scout functions

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, chemical engineering, or a relevant field
- 10+ years of experience in automotive corrosion engineering role.
- High level of knowledge of the corrosion performance requirements for all global markets.
- Strong technical skills and expertise in corrosion protection and BIW sealing, coupled with a 1st principles approach to problem solving
- Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field
- An ability to build strong working relationships with people across all organizational levels
