Lead Infrastructure Engineer

ADP is hiring a Lead Infrastructure Engineer in our Roseland, NJ office. This is a HYBRID role.

We are seeking candidates comfortable working with the following:

• Experience with x86 infrastructure specializing in hybrid Virtualization platforms with the ability to conceptualize, create, and design complex IT architectures based on business requirements.
• Responsible for automating processes/procedures in ADP's virtual infrastructure
• Able to integrate with various HW/SW vendors (create Firewall/Driver standards)
• Develops and maintains architecture/design guidelines/documentation
• Assesses the feasibility of new virtualization solutions and provides feedback
• Assesses suitability of vendor products or solutions to determine requirements for service improvements and new enhancements
• Collaborates with other IT teams in the design of processes which enhance innovation/stability of IT and business operations
• Participates in Business planning, IT strategy and setting

QUALIFICATIONS Desired:

• 5+ years IT experience with knowledge in server/cluster architecture design/automation
• Strong knowledge of leveraging API's and Native Plugins to external systems
• Experience with Infrastructure as a Service

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based servers and systems OS experience (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.) Application Servers (Apache, HTTPD, etc.)
• Ensure system security by configuring firewalls, SSL, VPNs, SFTP, and applying patches and updates.

Significant knowledge centered on virtualization products and technology including:

• networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPN, etc.)
• Shell scripting (Bash, Python, etc.)
• RHEL
• SRM/vSphere Replication

Able to work with the following orchestration tools:

• Ansible
• PowerCLI
• Comfortable to support and work with both Linux and Windows server enterprise technology
• Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to document technical information
• Educates ADP Associates/Team Members on VMware product offerings and best practices
• Ability to look at unique workflow and technology problems that may not have a clear solution, interpret them, and design/implement solutions to improve operational efficiencies and reduce complexity
• Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, build processes, testing, and operations
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team structure. Holds self and others accountable in achieving collective goals
• BS Degree in Computer Engineering or Information Systems or equivalent applicable experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Familiarity designing highly scalable and secure platforms
• Experience working in Agile, Scrum and / or Kanban
• Experience with BitBucket, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, and Splunk

Nice to Have:

• BMC-Control-M in an administrator role
• expert in Java (Java 8 preferred)
• Mainframe JCL, REXX GIT experience is a plus
• Understanding of open-source tools such as Apache KAFKA and web technologies
• SPLUNK
• Dynatrace
