As one of the nation's largest single-source providers of lighting and electrical products, electrical services, electrical construction, and energy management solutions, Facility Solutions Group is expanding their staff and seeking a Lead Lighting Estimator to join the FSG team.

As a Lead Lighting Estimator, you will play a key role in developing project estimates that support both customer proposals and internal pricing efforts. In addition to estimating duties, you will provide daily oversight of a small team of estimators. This includes mentoring, coaching, and training team members to support their growth and ensure high-quality deliverables. You will work closely with sales, design, and procurement teams to ensure accurate takeoffs, material specifications, and competitive pricing. Your expertise in lighting systems and team leadership will help produce effective solutions that deliver value and meet customer expectations.

Responsibilities

As an FSG Lead Lighting Estimator, you will:
  • Perform detailed takeoffs from construction drawings, lighting layouts, and specifications.
  • Analyze project plans and specifications to determine lighting product requirements and quantities.
  • Generate accurate material lists and lighting schedules based on takeoffs.
  • Request and evaluate vendor quotations to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Prepare lighting submittals, fixture schedules, and supporting documentation for customer proposals.
  • Collaborate with sales and design teams to review project requirements and optimize lighting solutions.
  • Apply value engineering techniques to identify cost-saving alternatives that meet performance standards.
  • Stay up to date with lighting technologies, codes, and product trends.
  • Maintain internal project databases and estimation tools to ensure consistent, up-to-date pricing.
  • Support procurement with transition from estimate to order, ensuring product availability and timely delivery.
  • Provide daily leadership and oversight of the estimating team, including task delegation, workload balancing, and quality review.
  • Mentor, train, and develop team members through structured feedback and knowledge sharing.


Qualifications

Required:
  • Hands on experience preparing lighting estimates and specifying fixtures for commercial construction or tenant improvement projects.
  • Proficiency in performing takeoffs of construction drawings and lighting plans.
  • Expert knowledge of lighting fixtures, lighting systems, and control strategies.
  • Prior experience leading, mentoring, or training team members.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple estimates and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with customers, internal teams and external vendors.
  • Proficiency with estimating and markup tools such as Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, On Screen Takeoff, Oasis, and Parspec.
  • Accountability, teamwork, and a commitment to high-quality work.

Preferred:
  • 5+ years of experience in lighting estimating focused on new construction lighting packages.
  • Understanding of relevant electrical codes and construction documentation standards.

Pay Range

USD $90,000.00 - USD $125,000.00 /Yr.
