- Technical Center Resident Lead Manufacturing Engineer supporting North American manufacturing sites.
- Lead the product development team through product and process selection, development, and improvement.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to execute successful launches of new products and programs.
- Interface with quality engineering to develop and understand key product characteristics.
- Guide the design and development of robust tools, equipment, and processes.
- Support manufacturing system design workshops and document savings or improvements from the workshop.
- Develop risk analysis and control strategies in PFMEAs.
- Qualify, validate, and stabilize manufacturing processes.
- Lead initiatives for product / process improvements.
- Manage equipment and tooling spending timelines through capital forecasts.
- Execute the engineering change process for product and process improvements.
- Support North American plants in their cost savings projects.
- Business Travel Mandatory to support North American sites.
- 45-50% Launch Travel
- 15-20% Non-Launch Travel
Position Requirements
REQUIRED:
- Excellent oral and written skills.
- Proven track record of leadership capabilities to lead a cross functional product development team and process selection / development / improvement.
- Works effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, and Project.
- Strong degree of self-motivation and self-direction.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a demanding situation.
- Knowledge of PFMEAs.
PREFERRED:
- Work experience in automotive industry or industrial / manufacturing engineering.
- Experience in manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Operations experience.
- Bilingual / Spanish Speaking (not required but a plus)
