Job Description:
The operations Manufacturing Engineering Lead is responsible for providing leadership as subject matter expert in new product production system design with a focus on operational capability analysis. This role will drive the manufacturing technology roadmap, engage early in programs, and interact with Operations Leadership across the enterprise.
This position focuses on developing and implementing strategic manufacturing engineering activities to meet safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives. The ideal candidate will influence new program development early in the life cycle through sound manufacturing engineering practices, design for manufacturing, and design-to-cost activities. This role will also lead and drive Center of Excellence teams for key processes and technologies.

This position reports to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering (CHQ).

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado State, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont and New York State is $99,500-$184,500. For California, Seattle, Washington D.C., Maryland Greater Washington D.C. area, the city of Denver, Washington State and New York City, the salary range for this role is $114,000-$212,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.

- Technology Roadmaps: Lead and drive technology roadmaps from an enterprise, segment, and site standpoint.
- New Product Development: Develop and drive key aspects of early new product development activities for operations.
- Production Innovation: Develop new ways of producing current and new products by analysing current state, researching, knowledge, and benchmarking to achieve greater value overall.
- DFMA Concepts: Drive Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) concepts into the new product development process. Bring production system thinking to the forefront.
- Capability Building: Build the manufacturing engineering capabilities within the organization.
- Standardization: Drive standardization of needed technologies, processes, and systems. Establish and create enterprise bill of processes as needed.
- Center of Excellence (COE) Teams: Coordinate select Center of Excellence (COE) teams across the enterprise. Provide forums, establish sharing mechanisms, create standards, and track progress.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish goals and objectives for corporate and enterprise teams to meet short-term operational metrics and long-term strategic needs of the organization.
- Travel up to 10-25%
This position reports to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering (CHQ).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline with a minimum of 9 years or graduate degree and a minimum of 7 years prior relevant experience managing projects in Manufacturing operations, Engineering design, or Industrial Engineering.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Excellent communication skills; able to communicate effectively with management and personnel at all levels
- Ability to manage multiple projects and problem solve
- Strong desire and knowledge of implementing technologies/automation (existing and new), digital systems and process design.
- Certified in Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt)
