The Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist oversees the daily operational and patient care activities in Nuclear Medicine at Regions, in concert with the Supervisor. This role also performs diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine and PET/CT exams. The scope of practice includes patient care, quality control, safe handling and storage of radioactive materials, administration of adjunctive medications, operation of instrumentation, and radiation safety. We take pride in providing a wide variety of diagnostic and therapeutic services as well as participating in research studies. We partner closely with our Cardiology, Oncology, Neuroscience, Interventional Radiology, and Breast Center teams.

The Lead provides daily oversight of employees in the modality, coordinates and enhances services for attending radiologists and referring physicians, quality assurance/improvement, accreditation management, staff education, and communication. The Lead assists the Supervisor and Operations Manager with hiring, directing, and monitoring the work of staff. This position requires on-call commitment above the hired FTE status.

Work Schedule:
  • Monday-Friday days with call responsibilities for evenings and weekends.

Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • Three years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • Registered in Nuclear Medicine with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board on or before first day of employment.
  • BLS certification from an AHA- or ARC-sponsored program on or before the first day of employment.

Additional Information:

This is a non-union 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period) day shift position with call working in Saint Paul, MN. The full salary range for this position is $47.39-$64.48 per hour, based on experience, plus shift differentials and call pay. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is eligible for benefits.
