The Lead Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the management and administration of project activities as directed by the Construction or Project Manager to ensure execution of the work in accordance with the Company's procedures and the contract documents. Also responsible for providing current and detailed information to the field to further drive timely field coordination and execution. This position could include leading and/or mentoring multiple Project Engineers on large projects.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

Project Field & Team Oversight
  • Takes the lead with Construction and Project Mangers to include receiving, logging, reviewing, tracking, expediting, and distribution of submittals, RFI's, change orders, and other Project Controls Documentation
  • Drives all open issues to closure


Project Planning & Project Close Out
  • Collaborates with project leaders on evaluation of projects for constructability and value-engineer cost savings
  • Covers for the Project Manager when they are not available for specific meetings or events
  • Managing the project closeout process, including final inspections, client acceptance, documentation of lessons learned, and handover of project deliverables. Ensuring that all contractual obligations are fulfilled and that the project meets client expectationsProject Data & Documentation Management
  • Develops a comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of the contract documents (plans, specifications, schedule, etc.)
  • Collects data, assembles, and distributes various weekly reports as required
  • Collaborates with the Project Manager, Superintendent and Procurement with purchasing, expediting and receiving material and equipment for the project
  • Manages preparation, issuance, and receipt of bid packages between field teams and Procurement for review and tabulation


Processes & Procedures
  • Lead the Project Team in the timely completion of all required project closeout documents per contract, including turnover packages, as-builts, O&M manuals, warranties, owner training, punch lists, and other related items
  • Maintains accurate project documentation, including team meeting minutes, change orders, contracts, progress reports, and technical manuals.
  • Manages or supports the change management process, by updating logs, routing source documents to vendors, obtaining pricing, developing estimates and proposals, writing change orders and other related activities
  • Proactively identifies issues that could lead to problems and facilitate solutions


Quality Control
  • Conducts audits and field walks as needed
  • Participates in safety behavioral observations (SBOs) with EHS and QAQC teams
  • Monitors quality control measures are met based on project needs and project scope

Minimum Required
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years experience
  • OSHA 10 required


Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • OSHA 30 preferred
  • Experience working on construction projects (preferably Semi and/or Pharmaceutical type projects)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment preferred
