Description:
We are seeking an experienced software engineer with a strong background in database management and geospatial data processing to support the distribution of intelligence products. This role is responsible for maintaining and enhancing spatial content databases, ensuring data integrity, and optimizing workflows related to boundary generation and geospatial product updates.
This role primarily works out of Arnold and experience with the gateway and the data associated with it is highly preferred. Ideally, you will understand the data flows and be able to contribute to modernizing and updating the current data structures we have. You will work in tandem with one other person to accomplish this effort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and maintain databases supporting intelligence data dissemination.
- Enhance and optimize scripts, stored procedures, and ingest processes to ensure data accuracy and efficiency.
- Work with geospatial technologies, such as Oracle Spatial and ArcSDE, to improve data processing and visualization.
- Maintain and improve existing scripts and software tools used for data ingestion and validation.
- Enhance automation workflows to improve operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database and software issues impacting data integrity and accessibility.
- Serve as a technical liaison, engaging with multiple teams to ensure seamless data integration.
- Support cross-domain data transfers and security protocols.
- Deliver briefings and technical presentations to key stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with database design and integration of geospatial intelligence products.
- Active Top Secret (TS/SCI preferred)
- Strong programming experience with scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Java).
- Expertise in geospatial database management, including Oracle Spatial, ArcSDE, and related technologies.
- Knowledge of security protocols for managing data across multiple domains.
- Strong communication skills, including experience presenting technical concepts to leadership.
- CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent required before starting.
